I found it really hard to fly with keyboard, it's alot easier with an Xbox controller if you have one laying around.

NO...... DO NOT DO IT.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I started with that and it was terrible. The default controls use the number pad.
I hooked up an Xbox controller and it's way better. That should hold me over until I get a decent joystick or yolk.
Edit: cyra beat me to it.

Installed this over the weekend. 91gb download was maybe an hour tops.
Have a saitek x52 HOTAS, which was interesting, since I don't know all the buttons that well, but with a 3700x paired with a 1080 @ 2k resolutions, I was still seeing 60+ fps. Was doing all the training sessions, hoping it would help me memorize the layout better.

I think it was "High-End" default, but there was also zero traffic around me, nor was I near any large cities. I kept trying to do a Springbank -> Kelowna flight, but the game kept crashing anytime I went over 6000 feet, so I gave up. Then I got tired of the GeForce overlay breaking everything, so I shut that off, and have no idea what my FPS is.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I just ordered this to compliment all the flight simulator games that I don't have.

This game would be so epic in VR. Does it support VR?
Yeah, VR is in Beta I believeThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

HP Reverb G2 support during launch. Nov 2020. Other headsets "later".
This is why my new PC build is postpone til next year. All the bits that I want ain't coming/mature until then anyway and Christmas rush sounds iffy.
Ryzen 5xxx + HP Reverb G2 + 3080 (or Ti) should make a decent rig for Flight Sim 2020.

Downloading the update now... hopefully my laptop can run this game!
Quest 2 arriving next week - looking forward to trying that with Star Wars Squadrons first and hopefully will work with MS Simulator. Even at low graphic settings I think this would be so awesome.
Do you guys get sweaty in the VR gear?
What's the resolution on quest 2? Only thing stopping me from buying VR has been I hear the resolution is terrible and doesn't look good up close like that. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Barely higher than the Rift S which is why I am not buying one either. My biggest complaint with every VR set so far is that you can see every pixel clear as day for a screen door effect. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
1280X1440 vs 1832X1920 (per eye). I suspect most people won't even be able to notice, or barely.
Reverb G2 has 2160x2160 per eye at 90hz. Sounds like 3080 is the perfect card to drive that and hopefully reduce the screen door effect. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Do I need the rudder foot pedals to blast you all out of space?
I'd have to see it but that's only 4.6MP which is probably not nearly enough to get ride of SDE. I realize the issue becomes processing power but VR isn't going to be amazing until we can get there IMO. For now I just stick to the fun games like Beat Saber where graphics don't really matter. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Will let you guys know how the Quest 2 looks. It'll probably still have SDE, but at those specs with the price I think it's a no brainer. At least I dont have a $2500+ PC and not spending another $1200 on a VR headset.
Looking forward to seeing how this $399 headset does along with Virtual Desktop to run some of the PCVR games. It's comical how many people are trying to unload their Quest 1 on kijiji now.
Can the Quest 2 handle massive Excel spreadsheets and Powerpoints?
