I wonder why you would need to be in rural area for testing?

Satellite network isn't complete, therefore you need a bigger available section of the sky open.

I signed up, we have no cell coverage and are limited to 5mbps internet at the lake.

I’m actually super stoked for this, best musk product for sure.

I was on the beta list a while ago, signed up again with my rural address to increase my shot of getting in. If this shit works I could start WFH at least a couple days a week during the summer from out there and be living the dream.

sounded good until it says you need to commit 30 minutes to an hour each day of using it to be allowed to beta it, we're only at the acreage on the weekends typically... i guess i could just set up a PC and remote in to it so it looks like i'm using it

Damn, lots of beyonders with acerages between Saskatoon and Minneapolis

As for a specific latitude range, the Starlink website mentioned “44.9-51.8. (about Minneapolis to Saskatoon in latitude)”

i WFH every day, lol, the acreage is my brother's but it would be nice to work from out there, that's where my RV is... unfortunately with their statement about reliability that's not gonna work so well.

i signed up anyway, we'll see what happens, i can just leave a laptop out there and remote in to it to keep things active

I have a fallback network at the lake(Wifibre based on ubiquity AirMax units off our water tower), it’s just slow as balls.

    Plus it’s just cool

Probably bandwdith. So they want few applicants per satellite/ground station.

    FF to 7:30

Also, it requires line of sight. No trees and no tall building between you and the satellite.

And until sat to sat routing is enabled, I assume performance probably sucks under storm or heavy clouds.

Do you just sign up for the email list or is the beta signup somewhere else?

It used to say beta, now it looks like it’s one list.

Make sure you stick in a rural address.

It didn't recognize my address, so I just stuck in Priddis, or Foothills and it took that with my email.
The email I received just said 'we'll let you know when we have something to tell you'.

I like my Telus hub right now. I work from home. It's cheap too, like $75/month.
Speed is really good some times, but poor other times. The telus tower is a few km away and shared by a lot of people.
I just got one of these, which I'm about to try. Will hopefully increase my hub from 2 to 5 bars.

No harm in tossing your name in

    Very sparingly... lol

The speeds are fine for streaming with Xplornet, but the gigs are limited so if you stream in high def you eat them up quick. Our plan is $110/month and we get only 100gig of data. Streaming in low def is no problem but in HD or 4k it is gone way too fast. I think I get 16mb download speed on average.

My parents have a Telus hub and pay 75$ for 500gb, I was actually surprised how cheap it was (they came from satellite internet that was crazy expensive beforehand.
