I am totally behind on this topic, but wouldn't paying students for volunteer work make it not volunteer work?

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and other federal officials have repeatedly said that WE Charity was the “only organization” capable of delivering the $543.5-million CSSG, which would pay students for volunteer work.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

Blah blah blah, typical answer avoidance.

Anyone still following this? How does this continue after the prorogue? I suppose one can *hope* that the RCMP is actually "examining" things...

I honestly don't know much about how our government works, but right now it feels like our system was designed to protect crooked politics. You get in trouble and you can literally shut everything down!

    Insanity.

    Loving Poillievre's response though.

I love the old Trudeau quotes they're bringing up throughout this thing, demonstrating his brutal hypocrisy.

I can't stand listening to the guy talk, so I pretty much missed anything he had to say up til this WE scandal thing. What a shitbird.

“Finally, TBS notes that ESD has not provided evidence to suggest that WE Charities possess the capacity to undertake this work, especially under accelerated timelines,” read one part of a memo sent by the department on May 4, which also cited “integrity concerns.”
    ...
WE Charity says it has reimbursed $22 million of the $30 million it received in startup costs to run the program and is in the process of returning the rest of the funds.
