Default Is there anyway to see city proposed work in your area?

So the city came by and spray painted an arrow on both sides of the street and also put a cone on both sides of the street. My neighbor and I both have a right of way going through our yards. We also both have sheds on top of the right of way (his with a concrete pad), is there any website to see what proposed work or maintenance is going to occur by neighborhood?

So your neighbour poured a concrete pad where there's a right of way?

Those markings designate where Elon Musk will be building a subterranean railway. He's still working on the name.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

Actually the previous owner did, he bought it like that and it wasnt mentioned on the RP, my greenhouse is not affixed to the ground so I can move it, but it would be a pain. However there is a fence and a swale between my property and the work area.

You can call 311 but based on your description, this is the backyard? No website as far as I know.

Could be internet or utilities maintenance.

As far as I know you can do that, just prepare to lose it without any compensation if the City needs to access the area...

So when we bought our house we didnt even know where the right of way went - but the previous owner had put 50k of heavy (200KG each) rocks as landscaping on top of the right of way. We are prepared to lose them if they ever have to tie into the right of way but its going to take some effort from the city to move that.

I called 311 - the lady said there was nothing in the system. It could be a new canada post mailbox. Unsure why that would require markings on each side of the street though.

City of Calgary does have a map that shows all active permits, you can try looking on there.

That is a cool site. I never knew there were so many basement suite applications in my area.
