I listed right away, but I’m not going to lose any sleep or line up for hours to get a shot or anything.

Once it’s normally and widely available I’ll get it.

Nothing to do with “waiting to see” how it works out, just being practical.

I think I can wait this out as I'm not in any hurry to go anywhere. I also presume there will be a rush of ppl to get it first and they might not have enough for everyone anyway? And like what most of you have said, it depends on if it's mandatory or not etc. Time will tell. I would like to travel again as well.

I'm up to date on all my shots. I got the flu first time Dec 2011 and it kicked my ass so I got the flu shot every year after except this past season. I caught a cold before flu season so decided to just skip it Undecided if I'll get the flu shot this year but all I know is I do not want the flu ever again!

Fair. I've never claimed to have an understanding of the science and didn't consider that possible point of view. If it's accurate it does negate what I posted, as does (somewhat) the "more advanced modelling and technologies" train of thought by pheoxs. I have a potentially outdated distrust of medical science in this area but I think it's ok to be skeptical about it. And yes, I realize my own logic is flawed when I completely accept the validity of polio/mmr vaccines but question the flu-shot. I'm not above having emotional/fear based responses to things but fuck, that's old news to everyone here haha

they are working on those too. but manufacturing some rna is a lot easier than growing a virus. the rna guys are just ahead.

The Oxford vaccine and CanSino vaccines are both nonreplicating viral vectors (adenovirus), so they aren’t like the Moderna mRNA vaccine.

Oxford is currently in phase 3, while CanSino is in phase 2. Both show positive immune response in phase 2 trials.
