I get flu shot every year, have my tdap, twinrix, etc etc but I am not sold on an mrna type vaccine. Why can't they just make a deactivated virus vaccine? It cant be that hard to grow this thing.

Sinovac is also in Stage 3 testing in UAE with inactiviated method. With Beijing/Wuhan/Bharat just right behind them.

Doubtful, at least not initially. We likely won't even get the Oxford vaccine because the US/UK will use all the manufacturing of it for themselves. Then again the Canadian government did procure 60 million syringes and injection supplies so I wonder how hard it is to grow the de-activated virus en mass and then just disperse into syringes ourselves?

Yeah, I'm guessing the choice will be to take whatever vaccine the federales choose or not, and it will be in incredibly short supply for YEARS if other types of government procurement are any indication.

I guess the good news is that by the time I have to decide, it'll probably have at least 12 months of widespread human use around the world, so any side effects will be well understood by then.
