OR since it's the new reality and now assigned as a necessary part of your job you could just do it.

OR they could get rid of you and bring in someone who will fulfill their duties, that's always an option at any place of employment.

There's several easy solutions to the problem.

We've added a bunch of daily paperwork requirements to our crews, that's never been baked into their job. There are several other new guidelines that seriously impact their typical workday in a way that never was before.

I'm not paying them more for it, it just became a requirement of their job.
Paperwork is one thing. What about shared textbooks, shared computers, various other shared things? Recess equipment? Gym equipment? Bathrooms, etc.

How bout we add some actual funding for more janitorial, not retopping to what it was pre UCP and calling it a big boost in funding..

Agree that more funding would be ideal, my point was there isn't any more funding for a wide swath of jobs now that have to do all kinds of extra duties. I'm not aware of any where you get to just decide you're not going to do them because "it isn't fair". And maybe it isn't fair, but it's the current reality so my position doesn't really change, it's what you need to do to have the work.

Fair and reality are often not in alignment. If it legitimately doesn't work then I guess all the parents should get enough additional funding from the government to cover 100 percent of the additional cost of living increase due to homeschooling/childcare?

I just don't understand where the fight over extra duties and expenses starts/stops right now.

Zero positive tests is not a realistic or helpful goal.

Will never happen here, given doesn't have the money, or just doesn't want to pay for it
It's stupid we don't have the money for that. Probably 20-30$ a piece to make those (even less for mass production). Considering COVID tests cost 35$ per test, one outbreak in a class and all the kids getting tested already covers it.

Yes. We are all going to be exposed it to. Might as well rip the bandaid off and get it over with.

That's not how budget works. Testing is on AHS's dime, so it's free to the schools.

    Free option is best option.

Didn't they change back to the nose swab? I'd love to see the success rate of that test done on kids.

Since people neither want to send their kids to schools, nor do teachers want to teach.

Can we lay everyone off and just let private daycares open up in schools and let people make their own decisions about risk and cleaning?

ATA is doing a town hall at 3pm today. I assume we will know more about strike intentions in the next week.
