Furnace/ AC troubleshooting - Furnace blower fan won't stay on

Try to jump out R to G on the thermostat input terminal strip. This should run the blower at 50%. This will eliminate the thermostat as a problem, but it sounds like the control module integrated into the X13 motor is bad. Would require a voltmeter to confirm. The X13 blower is the basic replacement of the old PSC motors, but not a full blown variable speed drive.

This didn't help. I have a tech coming out for diagnostics tomorrow so they can order a new motor Tuesday when the supply places open. Just getting a tech out here in the Columbia valley is nearly a miracle.

Fuck this is not how I wanted to start this leg of my vacation. I'm going to have a couple beers and relax.

Hijack side question, if I may...

Since I got a fancy SMRT Thermostat, I noticed it has a Cool mode as well as a Heat mode.
Currently it's in "heat" mode but the target temp is like 16 so the furnace never comes on. I don't have central AC; but, if I switched to COOL, would the furnace & fan behave the same as it currently does on "heat", or, would the fan come on more frequently to try to circulate some of the cold basement air and equalize the house more effectively?

Easy question for those who know, hopefully!

If its a Nest you can set up a schedule or atleast tell your fan to circulate the air for 15 - 60 mins per hour, every hour.
