If anything we made a better decision because we had a consensus and were all on the same page.

While fireworks are a big thing in Lebanon, I don’t buy that for a second. My guess is some sort of clandestine weapons depot for hezbollah

Same ... real estate right by a dock is prime $$$, no one would buy that to do a fireworks factory since that shit can be loaded on trucks super easy. Could have been a big shipment of fireworks in transit though and a holding warehouse I guess

The government has confirmed it wasn’t fireworks. But then again the government is Hezbolah, so you can take literally anything they say with a few sacks of salt.

Lots of videos showing a mushroom cloud. Could it be a tactical low yield nuke? I have family on the eastern border of Lebanon that felt it....

Not a chance that's fireworks, only need to google what fireworks factories look like when they explode, nothing like what was recorded

    Whatever it is, that's insane

You can see fireworks going off in the smoke in some videos and this guy was hella close

But crazy blast, gotta be more to it for that size of explosion

Several videos show tons of small explosions before the big one. Looks like munitions at first glance.

No way it was a nuke, IMO.

Almost looked like a steam drum explosion. If the building had big boilers in the basement, it would look like that.

Water at saturation temperature, under pressure, will expand at 1:1600 when released.

10m3 of water will expand to 16,000,000 L of steam. 10m3 boiler is small.

Given the size of the explosion i call shenanigans on the video. Anyone that close should be just plain dead.

Zero chance that is a steam drum failure. There wouldn't be a fire ball of that magnitude.

Quite right. However after the fire you can see the “steam cloud”.

Of course something had to cause an integrity failure for the drum to let go. Just hypothesizing.

Red smoke can be created by Sr which is used in fireworks.
    Very sad to see.

That steam cloud is condensed water vapour from the pressure of the explosion (essentially). Its the same principal as the mushroom clouds formed during the nuclear explosion. It not about the source of the explosion just there is sufficient energy released as a result of one.

Secret munitions using a fireworks factory as cover?

Or maybe just a shaken beer can.
