Default I'm looking for the Ultimate Calgary Car (for under 100k)

I find myself constantly looking at various types of cars these days and coming to similar conclusions; they suck for Calgary roads.

I've been in SUVs for the past few years, even having a truck at one point. I liked certain elements of those vehicles, mainly the fact that it seemed built for Calgary. I could go in any weather and on any road with relative ease and no fear of being under equipped for the situation. Potholes, speed bumps and the like, were no longer a real concern. The way they rode wasn't exactly plush but it wasn't jarring either. But they suck for any actual enjoyment while driving. Theyre not that fast, they're heavy and they handle like poo.

I've had a couple sportier cars that were amazing to drive full out but were kind of a handful for normal driving duties. Neither were over 50k however, so compromises had to be made to get the performance. And those compromises weren't worth it ultimately.

Since then, I've held off on a few sportier cars because of "firm rides" and think it's not worth getting beat up on my way to best buy. I also don't want to hit an unexpected pothole and cry.

I know alot of you have owned a variety of great cars and I would love your opinions on what really is the best mix of soft and luxurious but with performance baked in. Is this even something that exists?

Cars I've considered but waffled on so far are :
    BMW M2/3/4
    Camaro SS/ZL1
    Charger 392
    Supra
    c63 (n/a version)
    Corvette c7
    e400
    mustang gt or gt350

My w205 C63 was pretty awesome for a DD.

An important consideration is if you want your DD to be comfortably winter able, IMO that narrows the list considerably.

    +3 for Trackhawk

If you’re doubting this recommendation, test drive one. Perfect all purpose vehicle for Calgary.

What about a 'hot hatch' like a Golf R, MB A35, or Civic Type R? I think all of them have suspension adjustments that range from very comfortable to race mode, so you can be comfortable on the way to Best Buy and then turn it up a notch for when you want to have fun. They are good if you're looking for a car with a dual personality. Could probably keep $30-40K in the bank and still get what you want, if that is something that interests you.

For Calgary I'd probably do a sporty turbo SUV tbh. Grip and clearance in the winter but still some brap braps to pass people going slow.

Other option is a Suzuki Cappuccino

Golf R is legit best option. Reasonable value, very practical 365 days a year, not a heat magnet, can be tuned for even more if ya get bored.

Because the OP also wants performance, and I'm assuming the ability to park without pulling an Austin Powers.
