May be a dumb question- I lost my wheel lock key. I called the dealer and it's $45 for a new one- Are there any shops that can take them off easily (and for less than $45)

TIA

Dealership should have a master set and be able to remove for you. Sometimes free. Sometimes not. If you have a good relationship at your dealership, then free.

You know those bored stay at home moms who's entire lives revolve around driving their kids to soccer, various cleaning accessories, and worrying about neighbourhood rapists? The kind of people that watch the View and go "uh huh..." Those unfulfilled people who try to fill the void in their empty lives by writing whiny letters to the editor complaining about shit that no one really cares about?
Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.
You can buy them on eBay for $20 or so. Or just borrow one?
Going to be hard to get any shop to do it for less than $45 even though it will take them no more than 5 minutes.
As a side question to this, are all wheel lock keys different per vehicle or is it different per brand?
In the case of MB vehicles, our master key set, has 30 different wheel lock key designs. I think Nissan/Infiniti is the same as well. So in essense yes its different per vehicle but not all 30 designs are stocked. Its all random draw what the dealership has on the shelf for wheel lock kits during the PDI processThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Ask the parts counter how much for non-locking nuts (4) and then ask if you can borrow the key to remove. Locking wheel nuts are stupid. Don't inconvenience thieves, just owners.
