My impression from comments on Facebook groups is the exact opposite. Seems like the majority of people have no clue as to the actual facts and just hate the Conservatives because they're Conservatives and think the Liberals/NDP will save the world through their self-righteousness.

It's legit scary how strong of opinions completely uninformed people have.

Places like CBC comments are usually pro-trudeau, defending his actions and with the odd non-in-line comment being downvoted or moderated to nothing.

I was referring to the change in sentiment. Similar in lines to his JT public FB page.

Places like the REBEL media (right wing) you'd expect comments like that, not on CBC.

The post I noticed this on was on the Calgary "Crackmacs" page. I'm increasingly surprised by how many Albertans are becoming hard left-leaning....

Crackmacs and the calgary redditors represent the young (18 something) year old groups who have no idea about work and life - and think their virtue signalling is meaningful.

Once people hit their 30s, they generally understand that life is not a bed of roses, that money does not fall from trees and that entitlement gets you no where fast.

Crackmacs is full of "woke" teenagers, pretty much a carry over of r/calgary.

I would not use them as a barometer for the rest of Alberta.

Oh, I'm definitely not normal. I do assume though that anyone still using Facebook is either on it to share their kids photos with family, or they're just political and/or religious wingnuts

I personally think most people are wingnuts about something these days. I would say using Facebook is way more “normal” than you might like to believe.
