I remember taking a public bus to A&B Sound Downtown to buy my first CD - Smashing Pumpkins, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness LOL - as an 11-year old.

I’ve made an effort to walk E Hastings pretty regularly since the 90’s. People call it a shit hole but it’s not that bad. Well, it wasn’t that bad. Last year was the first time I had to turn around because it’s that fucked up now. There’s sections of sidewalk that’s completely blocked out from any sunlight. Essentially a murder tunnel. Pretty much daily. Downtown Calgary has gone to shit, and this is coming from someone you lived in downtown Edmonton for close to a decade. At least down here CPS and bylaw respond significantly faster to issues in Edmonton sometimes it would take months for anything to happen about encampments.
