So in emergency, break glass. The glass happens to be Calgary.

How will this affect our current city Medical shortage? And the airport will become a cluster F.

But maybe it’ll keep all those yolo’ers in place for a while. Yes I’m talking to you - talking vacations on credit - lol. (That’s a whole new other MEGA thread, though)

Uhhhh, so a charity stores materials here, for deployment through this major logistics hub.

Nothingburger? Or am I missing something?

Full hospital that were expected to manage and run. I wonder how much AHS had or doesn’t have to do with it.

Also, for the first time ever, deployments will consist entirely of Canadians, which means the organization is looking for doctors, nurses, and other medical personnel that are willing to put themselves on a roster for potential short-term deployments in times of crisis.

I'm confused what this is. Is this a field hospital set up by the airport to take patients here? Or are these kits and personnel that are stationed here that would be flown to a disaster zone and then set up on site?

Whats the point in having a third party hospital set up here in town when we have real hospitals we should be investing into expanding instead.

    It's a business.

Perfect. Then why would I care that it’s here.

    Weird NIMBYism going on here

It's a stack of seacans they can put on a cargo plane. They aren't building a hospital in Cowtown.

When Vancouver slides into the sea, they'll send it to Chilliwack or something.

I was under the impression we would setup the hospital AT the airport.

    No?

Uh, no… not how anyone else has read this article. The only impact I can see is if these Canadian medical (volunteers?) are lopsided to Calgary medical staff… but seeing how they too have to travel they can come from any region when needed

Why would they set up a field hospital at Calgary if there was a disaster requiring medical attention not here? Calgary is just going to be the home base where it will be dispatched out of then the medical staff/volunteers will fly to where they are needed.
