In my experience the vast, vast majority are better used in other roles than combat arms.
When one does make it into combat arms, the media will make sure you know about it!

Didn't take long for the passage of Bill C-18 to have negative consequences...

LOL. What a terrible fucking article though.

It is a very stupid piece of legislation.

But the fact people are relying on Facebook as a means to get the latest news is a bit ridiculous in an emergency situation.

Is it cruel to send a South American illegal who illegally crosses into the USA and then into Canada, back to the USA? Trudeau did agree with Biden to make the border more solid.

I would say it depends on where the undocuments go.

    https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/nati...icide/4602380/

Barefoot climate refugees on the move, on foot of course.

Could 400,000 refugees from the USA hit next year? If Ukraine conflict goes global - absolutely. 4 million if a nuke drops (on NASA in the USA)? I'd say no not that many, but its not off the table of reason.

You don't rely on FB per se. You're relying on people you know and trust to share news links from more trusted sources than the Communist Broadcast Corp, on FB. Where else is an easier place to connect with these people I know and trust?

I guess LPC/NDP voters don't know how to go to ctvnews.ca or something?

Even in the before days I found news aggregation sites to be of very limited use.

I know Marth is hard. But it’s pretty funny for Trudeau to claim:

“ It's time for us to expect more from corporations like Facebook that are making billions of dollars off of Canadians,".

Billions eh? I mean meta only made $23B of profit last year, worldwide. He really thinks Canada is multiple billions of that?

Delusional idiot. We are a drop in the bucket to these companies.

What I don't get is who goes to Facebook for emergency news anyway? I thought Twitter had that covered with the hashtag thing. Maybe I don't use Facebook enough to know all the tricks but whenever I do try to use it, it's a mess.

I can't find it, but at least one beyond member has said it's one of their main news sources.

Facebook is silly for news since the newsfeed isn't time based. Plus Facebook wasn't scraping news content, people were just sharing link. Either to each other, or the news agencies shared their own links on their own page. In no world did meta steal any revenue from Canadian news, quite the opposite in fact, it drove a substantial amount of their referral traffic. The fact they were included in the bill is laughable.

Google on the other hand is well know for "zero click searches" meaning their goal is to scrape your content and deliver it to a user without you benefitting in anyway. That should be fought to the grave, as it's pure evil to content creators. Pay up or stop.

Twitter is still the best for trending and breaking news.

It's like the entire LPC doesn't know how the FB newsfeed works.
