I just got back from Expo 2020 in Dubai.

I'm not sure what other thread I can post about my disappointment in the Canada Pavilion but figure this makes the most sense. It was likely the worst Pavilion from a major country (Sweden's kind of sucked too but I'm sure they spent 1/4 the money).

The building was a kind of cool design but basically a complete copy of the Beijing Olympic "Nest" but with wood. Inside, they showed a 360 degree video with crappy music that looked like it was cut together from stock footage by some high school kids. Even after waiting 10 minutes in line to get in, people walked out after 2-3 minutes of seeing how terrible it was.

Total cost? At least $40 million per this CBC article.

    https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/expo-w...ion%20pavilion.

I'm not sure who the reporter was but obviously incredibly biased or perhaps she just found someone polite to quote. If they'd asked me, I would have suggested a shredder at the exit so I could put my Canadian Passport through it.

So fucking embarassing and obviously corrupt in the entire award process.

If they'd given me half the money I'm sure I could have put together a 5x better Pavilion (I've worked in the Middle East for 15+ years dealing with contracts/awards/construction/procurement so I'm not exaggerating).

Fuck this Liberal government is useless

Only for Canada it seems. It was actually pretty cool.

I wouldn't necessarily travel solely for it but I could have spent a week there easily.

We knew this weeks ago when Trudeau challenged all the parties to a no confidence vote.

Actually we knew he's here till at least 2025 last summer, when he, you know, won his third election.

How many minority governments have lasted 4 years?

I'm mostly chapped that the ndp will side with the liberals in committees and basically shut down any potential investigation into the next inevitable scandal.

Who did you expect them to side with? The UCP? Sorry, I mean CCCP ? Sorry, I mean CPC? NDP will NEVER make that mistake again, I guarantee you that.

So basically the Liberals are even buying Parliamentary votes now. Got it.

This seems like a small change. NDP have been propping up Liberals the entire time they had the minority government. Jist takes the idea of a non-confidence vote off the table.

Honestly might be the best thing for the Conservatives. Give them time to get thier shit together.

I'm just shocked we haven't seen Trudeau pandering more to Ukraine. No yellow tracksuits, nothing.

That's a good point. Here we are in March without a single holiday where Laurentian elites can virtue signal, put on a shirt coloured ____ and take the day off while the rest of their colonies go to work and pay taxes.
What a squandered opportunity for Heir Justin.

Perhaps a small change but with the Dental Care/Pharmacare announcement (with no cost numbers attached oc) it seems like the horse-trading for that support has really begun!

At least the horse trading is out in the open. Better than the backroom deals.

I'm surprised Justin didn't dress up the way he did in India for this photoshoot.
