For me, the countries who are currently least embarrassing are the former USSR countries in Eastern Europe - Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Moldova, Czech, Slovakia = and to a large extent Poland and Serbia as well, though they have their weird religious Conservative flaws. They're enacting progressive fiscal and social policies that are spurring economic growth, improved infrastructure and social services, and an entrepreneurial and innovative atmosphere that businesses are actually attracted to operate in.

You don't understand. These countries are acting the opposite of communist and are embracing free market principles while Canada is embracing a more centrally planned economy.

    Case in point.

It’s like the CPC just don’t want to win. What possible benefit do these policies have in getting elected or stealing seats from the NDP or Libs? Pierre doesn’t have to implement any of them but man sure makes for an easy target during debates and attack ads

    Good.
I'm glad someone is standing up to the insane transgender movement. Especially in youths.
Kids are so naive and impressionable. They shouldn't have access to such drastic and life altering treatment and surgeries until they are of legal age and undergo a battery of psychological testing.

+1 these are common sense policies and only someone who has been bathing in the far left koolaid would think these policies aren’t popular with the masses.

Fun fact, young people don’t even like the liberals any more. Turns out being unable to afford a place to live really gets in the way of their idealism when they have to move out of mom’s basement.

The only people still supporting these clowns are the one still living their life on mom and dads dime.

Putting these views into the limelight is just asking for them to become an election topic, one of which the conservatives will have already won the right vote on, but are likely to lose left leaning undecideds. Don’t get why they’d waste time on gaining further right voters, it’s not like they’ll lose Alberta by not bringing up trans gender rights..
If Canadians are swung to the left because of the trans mental illness movement and abortion policies considering how fucked up everything else is, this country deserves to burn. I'm happy to sit here and watch these idiots prioritize woke social issues while they get priced out of housing and become homeless.

You know it's getting bad when the left is starting to eat itself.

Frustrated Liberals say Pierre Poilievre is crushing them — and some of them are blaming Justin Trudeau

It's pretty front & center in society and I think you're seeing a reflection of that. "Pride Week" has transitioned into Pride Month and I was under the impression that was June, but perhaps that was not enough because in August, CoC kicked off a while bunch of other Pride activities, which is confusing.

Aside from that, television commercials (the ones that aren't for online gambling) have leaned pretty hard into interracial homosexual couples. While that's not trans, someone decided Pride needed to be intricately wound within trans, so those lines are blurring.

City of Calgary runs a pride event in Sept, which is confusing, since national, and international, are not at that time of year.

I just skip past anything that is related to gender. It's better for my mental health. Both my kids are being raised to be savages and will walk all over your kids in the future.

    That is all. Carry on.

I am stunned the red star has an article criticizing Trudeau. That's how you know the tide is turning.

This is the problem with conservatives. They don’t realize how fucked it is. You think centrist and undecided voters worry just about those things, they don’t. It is a lot easier to swing votes to the left by pointing out behaviour that sure toes the line of bigotry. There’s a reason the liberals very effectively chased Scheer by discussing his views on abortions.

Putting these views into the limelight is just asking for them to become an election topic, one of which the conservatives will have already won the right vote on, but are likely to lose left leaning undecideds. Giving children sexual agency is a deeply unpopular policy. Just so you know.

    Really?

See, I think you just uncovered the reason why our political system in North America is so fucked up. Nobody wants to run a neutral government. People are getting so opinionated these days that they are going to side with a government based on that party's staunch support for something that they feel strongly about. And sometimes, it's either a yes or no opposed to a compromise. So leftists pick pro choice, rightists pick abortion bans. Leftists push the trans agenda and gay rights, rightists tend to be completely against it. And if a party positions themselves in the middle, they appear wishy-washy and don't get support from the extremes of either side. So, we see the governments pushing their agenda hard because it's the platform they got in with and it's all or nothing if they want a second term.

Luckily, breaking this is still possible because the other factor people use is the leader himself. It seems so hard to find a leader who is competent, well spoken and for the people that if such a man (or woman) came around, I could see Canadians voting accordingly to just not have another chump in office. And I'm sorry, but it doesn't appear the next federal election is likely to include such a leader in either our country, or our neighbours below.

Literally fucking no one is banning abortion except certain states in the USA.

What the fuck is a "gay right" anyhow?

    Jesus.
