Fuck... If that happens I am on the separation train with no fucks given! If Albertaland can turn us into a tax shelter like the Cayman Islands, watch all the big companies move back bring their wealth!
The 30-42% duty on cars will certainly help my dream of more bike lanes, so I'm fully on board with this plan.

The 25% duty on everything else I'm less crazy about, but the government needs revenue from somewhere.

    I agree @tirebob
I believe Alberta can make a go on its own.
Eventually, we'd get Saskatchewan in too.

So, since Biden seems to be on track: I'm assuming that beyonders want to replace Trudeau with something more NDP-like.

Because thats what the younguns seem to want, and they are on an accelerated path to getting it. Be sure of what you wish for, get rid of Trudeau - and you might just get Ming the Merciless (which would be great IMO)

I guess the various HOAs that would replace the government can deal with the residential roads and collective infrastructure.

Roads and infrastructure will be fine... It is all the other bullshit waste that can go by the wayside. There is a big difference between collecting enough for what we need and spending it properly versus constantly taxing more and more and wasting money like a motherfucker on useless and pandering bullshit.

We will never agree on what is enough I am sure, but right now, it is played out and needs to stop.

Majority rules. There may be more students who want 50% off what they technically signed up for so that they have a chance of hitting the no more money owed in ten years. How many "successful" businesses that make money and complain about high taxes are there left?

Its a simple matter of numbers, not enough success - more people on the fail. Which automatically means to many people that they are best served shifting to the left. Buzz kids fail at landing on the moon, automatically shifts generational sentiment left of wherever Buzz was. If Buzz kids land on Mars, sentiment shifts right.

Its great to be "right" successful, but if 6 out of 10 people fail (or in the case of Buzz, 10 out of 10 people fail) - they will want to change the system to their benefit or at least not to their detriment. Which in Canada, does mean NDP.

The argument that being successful will encourage other people to compete and be successful is not working. NASA has proven this, big corps have proven this, they want no competition at all. I've said it before, the US has setup a system that pushes failure forward.

Manitoba, Sask, Alberta and BC (except those lower mainland and islander hipsters) are essentially the same. Throw in the territories we could have a decent looking country without those Ontario and Quebec pukes that seem to do nothing but leech off the west. Tis but a dream that will never happen.

All of these issues could be solved by further reaching legislation and mandatory Unionization of workplaces.

The economy gets a decent ROI on the first dollars collected and spent by the government. Border security, policing, some infrastructure help to unlock the potential of the citizenry to do their thing as capitalists. (It's not the only solution for these things, but it's not a net drain on economic potential at least). That positive ROI runs out really fast, though.

Most of the taxes collected in Canada, however, are a net negative on economic growth. You return less than a dollar for every dollar collected.

Not to mention that simply collecting the taxes for our over-complicated system eats up over 1%.

    Canadians

While they may not win seats LPC still polls at ~25% popular vote even in Alberta, that’s not so different than the 33% they got federally in the last election. That’s not even talking about the people who vote NDP or Green.

So yea, Canadians get what they deserve.

Between Libs, NDP, and Green over 60% Canadians are leaning hard left and asking for more government interference in daily life.

    Scary, comrades.

CCP and O’Toole are a joke, it’s Sheer 2.0. I can’t believe they keep electing these imbeciles. This country is going to shit, taxes are excessively high, major cities are congested, immigration is in full retard mode, the country is nearly broke, there are lying, snitching Karen’s everywhere, insane SJWism and a corrupt lying government. Voters don’t care about anything. Wear a mask, stay safe, stay home, government will protect you comrades.

Honestly my pet theory is the Liberal party died under Ignatieff, what we currently have is the Social Justice party of Canada.

You think Cretien or Paul Martin would even have a place in today’s party? Not a chance.

The LPC has gone so far left it’s nearly indistinguishable from the NDP or the Greens. It’s actually far more distressing than it sounds at first glance.

Pretty much... The Liberals of new are the NDP of old and the Cons of new are the Liberals of old. Nobody seems to be able to figure out the social left but the fiscal right and everybody wants something for nothing. Good times.
