    Default Movement/Strength Therapist Recommendation?

    Tl;DR
    • My L5/S1 back herniation from 10 years ago is starting to be a problem
    • I've had a clavicular resection in both shoulders (both fully healed)
    • I spend 10-12 hours/day at a computer right now, 50/50 mix between sitting and standing
    • I have constant neck and wrist pain (both wrists)
    • Looking for someone help me get my posture's shit together, work on muscular control (upper back especially), and general ergonomics
    • I do not want a virtual training course or any bullshit like that
    • I'm looking for someone to come to my place once/twice per week and we can use my gym; any equipment I need I can buy
    • I am looking for someone experienced with people that have chronic pain/injuries/etc.
    • I'm thinking that a mixture of posture training, movement therapy, bodyweight exercise, and some weight training is probably the ticket
    • The goal is to extend my ability to work stupid hours without further sacrificing my quality of life
    • I'm looking to work with this person for as long as needed

Let me know if you have any recommendations, beyond

Darra Bennet at Action Sports Clinic has worked wonders for me.

I would suggest Intrinsi on 17th ave and 16th st. They are Osteopaths and specialize in stuff like this. The last guy who helped me had a Masters degree in Musculoskeletal rehabilitation.

Only catch is I doubt they will come to your home, so if that is a must then my suggestion probably won't help you.

I'm looking for an individual therapist/specialist vs. a clinic. I want somebody that will take the time needed to work with me. I figured that was worth $100ish an hour or something and that's fine.

He wont come to your house but Colby at dynamic yyc has worked wonders for me. I first saw him 2 years ago and he helped me get rid of 4 years of back pain (which i saw 5 people for) in 3 months. He takes care of multiple athletes I train to, id highly recommend!

You would be surprised how easy it is to improve these issues with the right guidance and exercise selection. Most of the time its pretty simple but you have to put in the work. I've fully recovered from a bulged disc with zero surgery. Most of the clients I get now are just looking to get themselves pain free and chase longevity. I have multiple people im setup with so I can tap into peoples benefits and work with the right people to get client fast tracked asap. If you want contacts see the above post or pm me.

If you don't end up finding a specialist to go to your home, I'd +1 for Colby. Dynamic specializes in movement and athlete training/rahab that I think may fit your needs.

And if the cost isn't a factor, another option I highly recommend is Dakin Rehab. He's an individual practitioner with a clinic on Macleod that specializes on the back and body alignment. He has great experience having worked with professional athletes and was on the Canucks training team. I go to him specifically for my scoliosis. They have a 3D imaging scanner that we use every appointment to keep track of my progress and look at analytics on how the body is lining up.
