    Default Value of a coin?

I've had this stupid coin floating around in a drawer since the 90s... No clue where I got it, but it just keeps following me around and I never seem to throw it out because maybe it's worth something.

Google-fu says some are worth something, some are silver some are gold plated and there's lots of eBay 10$ specials.

    I know it's non ferrous, it's 45mm diameter, 3mm thick. With the case it's 47g.

Is there a way to put an actual value on this silly thing?

One of the few things you can count on is that if something was made to be a collectible, it probably will never be valuable. Generally stuff like this is worth its melt value so if it is pure gold or pure silver, that is all it will ever be worth.

If you want to get some feedback from genuine coin nerds, this is a good place to start. I have some going back into the 1700's from my grandfather and they were super helpful.

They are silver and worth about $20 you can buy them on amazon. Even aliexpress sells the exact same coins.

Yes I realize there's a million out there. Brass, copper steel, painted, plated, silver...

Pretty much why I'm asking - how do I figure out an actual value for whatever's in the case? (Don't mind cracking it open clearly).

Do you ever see a thread title and think for sure that Zenops started it. Happens often enough to me, but this is the first time I have been wrong.

Awww fuck man... You just said the Zenops version of the N-Word! Somewhere it has triggered an alarm in his bat(shit crazy) cave and he is going to show up here and go on a rant. I blame you...

If it was pure nickel or iron, it would be magnetic. Just an add.

Use the Archimedes principle to determine its density and thus material. Multiply mass by $/oz bullion material price. Sell for way the fuck less than that.
    Profit.

Pretending like you don't care and haven't PM'd AndyL and wanted to meet for beers to discuss this coin for hours.
