This is a really difficult question and there are so many variables -

Is it my one and only car (Audi RSQ8)?

Can I sell it and use the proceeds (Stirling Moss' 300SLR worth >US$100MM)?

Do I presume that if money is no object for one single car, then I have all the money I want for other cars as well and I'm basically just naming the most expensive car I'd buy (McLaren F1)?

Can I has 5 cars instead?

Wife's kid hauler - Lincoln Navigator (until the new Escalade lands)
Vaguely practical car for "dad duties" - Audi RSQ8
Bad ass "daily" driver - Ferrari 812 GTS
Nostalgic bedroom poster car - 2001 Lamborghini Diablo 6.0 w/ GT body
    Crown Jewel - McLaren F1

Edit - damnit, I'd want a vintage car too (Ferrari 250SWB)... And maybe an F50 instead of the Diablo. But then, where can I slot in a Carrera GT? And then for a vintage car, maybe I want something even more striking, like a DB4GT Zagato. But if my main concern with the vintage car isn't performance, but rather, aching beauty, what about an Alfa Romeo T33 Stradale?

I think we should have a money is no object garage, and specifically for cars we would drive and not collect as an investment or what not.

Yeah these have to be cars you'd drive and use regularly and not any kind of investment or museum.

E63 Estate is about as wild as my dreams go. I'm a boring guy. Actually, probably the E53 with the EQ boost would be better. Rage raves about it after all.

Hyperbole much? They’re both great, just one less great than the other.

If this is the criteria, we'll just have a wall of Trackhawk's being posted.

A few cars come to mind:

BMW e30 M3 evo with a dog box
    Mitsubishi Evo 6.5 TME
LHD converted Subaru Impreza WRX STi 22B
    Ford Escort Cosworth RS
    MB C63 AMG Wagon
    996 Porsche 911 Turbo S

and my current car, but with a 6 speed gear box with front and rear LSDs and a rebuilt engine - Legacy GT wagon, manual, with no sunroof. Sort of like Super Gramps but with an EJ255/7.

    Why 996? I've got a boner for a 997.2. I almost bought a 996 but I just couldn't get over a 15-year-old 500hp twin-turbo for a daily driver lol.

I have always loved how they look, especially the face-lifted headlights (I know, blasphemy right?). I drove a 964 C2 and really didn't like it all that much, steering and brakes were far too heavy for how slow that car was. I figure any classic Porsches through the 993s aren't too much different (not having driven them) and I think 991s and newer look too large for the classic, more oval headlights. Plus Need For Speed Porsche Unleashed where the 996 GT1 car is the best car in the game. I played that game lots back in the day. 997s are fine looking, but 991s and 992s just look too big (992s especially with the much more arched body work on the rear quarter).

I feel you. I don't care about the headlights. I'd have bought it if I had more than a single-car garage lol.
