I left the stock ecu in there, shared sensors like tps and cam and crank, gave the microsquirt its own seperate MAP IAT and ECT sensors, and then took control of ignition and fuel away from the stock ecu and wired to the microsquirt. Gauges work perfect because as far as the stock ECU is concerned, it still thinks it's running the engine. I wired my subaru the same way and it works perfect also. The mustang has the stock ECU removed and runs entirely on microsquirt but that's a much simpler car.
    Nice work!

Very trick, nice to see there's options for OBD1 tuning that are comparatively low-buck if you're not afraid of crimpers.

    If you say so

Did some exhaust fab today. Running the "turbo delete" plate on the turbine until I do oil lines.

Bruh, nice routing, it's tight in there. You going to just redirect the Y-pipe to the turbo, or are you redoing everything back of the manifolds?

The Y pipe is just redirected into the turbo. I hugged the exhaust manifold so there's still good clearance to the control arms and diff at ride height. Didn't hear anything banging on the drive home last night haha. But I'll probably chuck a 1" coil spacer in the front as well to gain a bit more clearance and level the truck as well, simce it's always had a bit of rake.

Where's the oil pressure sender on these? Back of the intake by the distributor? Do you know what thread pitch it is, 1/8 or 1/4 npt? Going to pick up some fittings and do my oil lines at the same time I do my intake gaskets/belly pan reseal.

Yah back of the block on top and a bitch to get at. Don't recall the size though.

Pull the distributor for easier access, it should be 1/8” NPT.

Yeah way the fuck back there behind the kegger. Believe it's 1/8, takes the 1-1/16 deep sending unit socket. Pulling the passenger side plug wires should make things easier.

Long day today. Did intake gaskets/reseal belly pan, new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and installed my oil feed line teed into the stock pressure sender. This also gave me the chance to de-bullshit it a bit and delete EGR and simplify vacuum lines.

Are you doing the Utawesome plenum reduction mod while you're in there, or would that not be particularly beneficial with boost?

Edit: missed the part about putting it back together, typical Internet guy just looking at the pictures. Bring on the boost!

I figure reducing plenum volume would be more beneficial to an NA engine and potentially hurt a boosted engine. Most aftermarket intakes for boosted engines I've seen have plenum size increased over stock. I'm going to be controlling boost with the ECU on this so if it's a dog past 4000 I can ramp in the boost a little harder for that last thousand rpm to keep horsepower up. Gonna aim for about 10psi and that 300ish whp mark, it made 183whp NA.

Also heat wrapped the exhaust stuff, and then put the turbo in for good!

All done. I didn't post it in the thread, but I also previously made an intake hat for this since they run 250-350usd. Only took 2 hours and like 20 bucks in materials.

And some boost for you all (and me) to enjoy. It's going to stay at 5psi until I put my shift kit in in 2-3 weeks. Still a couple things to sort out before I turn it up.
