To be fair if you got the 900H you wouldn’t really be enjoying HDR anyways.

It’s seriously a mediocre tv and people seems to be blinded by possible HDMI 2.1 support and the price.

What do you need to look for in terms of HDR?

Read this to understand what HDR is about first as it's quite different than HDR in photography:

Basically HDR improves on SDR with more color and brightness of highlights. There's no consumer level TV today that can reproduce Dolby Vision films mastered at 4000 nits of brightness. Those rtings numbers you care about are color coverage, and HDR peak brightness. The closer to 100% coverage and 4000 nits of brightness, the closer you are at reproducitng Dolby Vision content.

When I criticized the 900h, it was because I did a side to side comparison of the 900h and 950h before I bought the 950h. The 900h's color was a tad washed out compared to the 950h (it's still WAY better than any SDR TV), but my biggest gripe was with peak brightness which was relatively weak on the 900h and wasn't much better than SDR. Peak brightness is what makes the image more life like. Headlights are bright like in real life, the sun's reflection of the water is bright instead of just "white". It's kinda hard to explain it unless you see it setup in person.

Should move TV talk to the TV recommendation thread, read through that, I've said a lot there.

Are you talking to me? I can't tell the difference between a lot of colors so it doesn't matter to me if a TV is tuned perfect. Being able to display 91 shades of green is lost on me when I'm lucky to be able to see 1.

It seems Microsoft is constantly releasing more xboxs for sale. Theres a site called nowinstock.net that posts times that the Xbox pops up for sale on certain websites.

If you look at the times you'll see a lot of similar times over the last few days that the Xbox goes up for sale and for what website it was available. This should help you snag one if you spend a few minutes online at those times.

Worst case you can buy one of mine at inflated prices.

For those of your who bank with RBC and have one of their credit cards, just realized there is a client offer for $50 statement credit for Microsoft store online purchase until the end of the year for purchase 500-1000 dollars and 100 dollar credit if you exceed $1000. Need to go online and activate the offer though, if you used a different cc you can probably switch the card for your order to your RBC one to get the deal.

Since my Xbox didn’t bill in September, looks like I’ll get $50 bucks back on my Xbox purchase

If you haven’t gotten an X yet, might be a good reason to use MS store when more come available. Product has to shop before year end to be eligible though.

So is Xbox Live done? Microsoft just charged me my yearly Xbox Live fee and for some reason I thought Xbox live was now free, have I gone full retard
