I bought an S as a secondary console upstairs, it's quite amazing for what it is. I do have the expansion harddrive though and I use that to play bigger games on the S when I use it, then just take it back down to my X later if I know I'm going to play that game

I can see how that works for you, but for a person with 1 concosle, the problem is that the s with the expansion drive is basically the same price as the x.

Jeez, the cheapest Series X on kijiji so far is $780. Most are $850+

How tf do you guys manage to get your hands on one of these? It’s been a year and I still can’t seem to time it right to buy one, I’m literally ready to pay $100 over msrp for one now.

You need to follow twitter or discord. There was multiple drops looks like the last day or so.

Only annoying part is that walmart and costco force you to get a controller with it. I read EB Games will have supply at all stores black friday but you will likely have to line up. They also force you to get a bundle with controller/game.

Also I definitely wouldn't get an S. As others have mentioned it will cost the same as an X if you get more storage but it will be an inferior console.

^Hah yeah I was posting how many ps5s and xboxs I sold when they first launched people didn't like that. I have helped a few people get consoles at cost and trying to help a few others tho so if you need help shoot me a pm. I'll typically know when the consoles drop in advance.

Lbabinz is great. Get into his discord it's free and you'll get some automated alerts as to when they drop. This is crucial for anyone trying to buy online.

I've mentioned this in the ps5 thread but anyone reselling is shipping their ps5s/consoles to large bulk buyers who have created a floor on the minimum pricing you'll see locally. Prices won't be anywhere near retail for a very long time. With that said there's a huge glut from all the consoles retails stored for this week's releases.

If you want to try local stores game stop has been selling like crazy locally today and yesterday. These aren't easy for the average buyer to get tho as they sell so quickly. Bestbuy just did an Xbox drop but they saved a lot of their consoles for a possible in store release. You should see a local drop for them. Some of the best buys in Calgary are tough on resellers so this could be a good chance to grab one at retail.

Walmart dropped a bunch of xboxs last night that were super easy to get. The source also sold some today online but their site sucks.

If you absolutely need a console immediately I can help but there's no reason to pay resale pricing if you put a bit of effort into finding one.

Series S is great with Game Pass for kids/casual gamer & especially if you have a poor-mans TV.

I grabbed it after missing the X on release day & I figure I'll sell it to get a revised model when I upgrade the TV in a couple years.

Gwill is right though, everyone I know that has put some effort into following the Discord/Stock-Tracker sites has got their console this year. Surprisingly most have come from Shoppers drops, lol

Massive shout out to gwill!! I have been trying to find Series X for my kid in the wild for a month now and saw this thread yesterday. One message to him last night seeing if he could help me get hooked up and low and behold, with a quick rip up to Edmonton today (I was already heading to Red Deer anyways) and I am now sitting on one at this very minute! Such an easy dude to work with…

Yes, you can gameshare all digital games and gamepass between 2 xbox's.

We have 4 kids in the house (I count myself as 1 haha) and 4 consoles. We have 2 game pass subs that allows all of us to play.

For 2 consoles, just need 1 game pass. Game pass owner account sets the console they don’t use as home console, and voila. All games simultaneously on both as long as the account tied to game pass uses the non home console.

You can flip home console settings 3x a year. Use it wisely. Console upgrade/replacements need a flip.
