I donated my old Xbox 360 and PS3 to families too when I upgraded last time around. That was organized by a former colleague so not sure how he set it up.

So out of 2 XSX's, one isn't happy. Crashing after 5-10 mins of COD. Minecraft works fine, just taxing games are killing it.

So my issue seemed to have fixed itself prior to the weekend. Oddly enough, only COD's were crashing the XSX. Every other game was fine. Spent some time playing FH4 and Gears 5, can feel the system run nice and warm with hot air blowing out of the vent. Wonder if the problem was CPU paste and running those games seated the paste properly and solved it. No changes to COD Cold War version or console version, so it wasn't a software update that fixed it.

I put in a solid weekend with the console and 0 hiccups all HDR/DV and Atmos output.

Blu ray, UHD Blu Rays worked great for me. DV streaming was seamless. And 2 solid days of gaming on Destiny 2 ( not the most taxing game but it was outing and making some heat for sure ).

Sounds to me like the smart play is not buy CoD games lol

Been playing quite a bit of Jedi Fallen Order and FH4 with no issues, beside the quick resuming only working 25% of the time w/ Fallen Order.

There’s 2 separate crashes out there. One seems to be hardware (mine). The other seems to be related to XSX running the Xbox One version of the game, which does the same crash but not as often. The worst part of the second one is that COD didn’t leverage smart delivery. You have to explicitly download the series S/X version. Verify that’s the one you have at 130gb. You’re only entitled to the Series S/X version if you purchased the cross gen upgrade. If you bought the cheaper edition there’s no upgrade path I don’t think haha.

The 2nd crash actually happened on my other XSX. Identical crash but very sporadic, once a day kinda deal. Confirmed the 2 XSXs had downloaded 2 completely different version even though the one with the second crash was listed as the Series X/S version in the menu. Only way to confirm exactly which version you have is by install size at 130gb. @killramos suggestion is best suggestion lol.

I 100% have the right version. I bought the physical disc. Has "Xbox" across the top instead of "Xbox One" and has the series X logo on the top right corner. Also verified, 130gb install package.

But, like you, I am pretty sure mine is hardware related as well. Just before it crashed, i pulled out my temp gun, and took a reading down into the top of the exhaust port and got a reading of 138.2 degrees. About 5-6 mins later, it crashed.

That's like winning the lottery. The odds of just checking a website and it having stock are slim to none. London drugs dropped the last batch of ps5s at 230am.

None of the retailers are emailing customers in advance of any sale so not sure why their saying they will if you sign up.

On an unrelated note as I'm sure everyone's dying to hear. 11 consoles sold from the 10th till now. Average profit has worked out to $300 per console. That should go up with the ps5s arriving.

Been testing lots of different price points with different accounts. PS5 disc is easily $1000 minimum. Xbox prices started at 950 easily but there's a lot out there so 850 seems to be the sweet spot.

Curious to see how prices go if there aren't any shipments happening.
