I think the pop will coincide with some sort of bad economic turn of some kind that will get people to panic.

How much difference/$ would you estimate carrying a deposit on a typical exotic is at current rates compared to say 5/6 years or whatever ago when they were extremely low or zero? Very interested to see how much $ this would mean total when considering how many cars the dealers move yearly. Fucking stealerships...
I'm not sure. I hadn't considered it being relevant, but a commentator on one of @SSO 's articles got me thinking.

Often the orders weren't considered valid by the manufacturers until the dealer had a deposit... of course, that didn't stop them from using straw buyers, etc, but under normal circumstances, sitting on deposits is not meaningful for dealers or manufacturers... Now, it's a different story when it comes to some of the more hypercars with drawn out production (looking at your Project One and Valkyrie).

With a changing market, the difference now is dealers and manufacturers want the buyers to have more skin in the game because they actually want, er, need the "buyer" to actually buy the car... That wasn't necessarily the case when things are routinely selling for 30%+ over MSRP... At that point, the dealer would prefer you didn't buy the car and happily give you your insignificant deposit back so they can flip the car to someone at market price.

    haha, ya sure.

More like "holy fuck, I specced a car that I thought would appreciate like crazy, and now I need to dump it fast so someone else takes the bath."
I don't think so. Mostly cause the guy was really old and big. lol.

The dealer has been telling him to hold on to it for now as the dealer believes after another year when the production is completely stopped these cars will go way in value. Or perhaps that was just the dealers way of trying to sell it to me as a good deal. Haha. Either way, I am not in that market right now, so doesn't really matter.

Wouldn't it be funny if shak was a complete fraud? I don't believe that he is, at all, I'm just playing a thought game.

Like, imagine the thread where that got uncovered and how quickly everyone would turn on him. I think it would end up being a Top-5 thread ever.
Lol what? Fraud in what way...who/what am I trying to scam here? I am not selling anything bro. lol

My guess is there’s zero chance these cars appreciate when production stops. That’s just a car salesman being a car salesman.

Like I mean if you were actually some hyper-narcissistic moron who worked at a Below The Belt, soaked in cologne going to outrageous lengths to maintain a completely fake online persona of an affluent, frequent car buyer.
    To impress people in Calgary...

Again, I'm confident that is not the case, I just imagine how bizarre and hilarious it would be if that were true.
    You would be so fuck.

    Hehe. That would be interesting.

Unfortunately, my profile is just way too public for anyone to find me by virtue of my profession. I've actually used that to build credibility for online marketplace transactions. Felt good, 'not going to scam you, Google me'. Haha.

I know, but if even that was all part of the sham, it would take it to an even higher level!

There is zero chance these appreciate.

I guarantee the same sales bro is telling the owner to sell while values are high.

Ferrari has just raised deposits on all its cars. Depending on the car it would be 5-10% with a lot more for the limited editions.

Apart from the styling, there really isn’t much to like about the car
