Farkas has announced his intentions to run next year. Can he defeat Nenshi? One would think it shouldn’t be that hard, if Nenshi doesn’t play the race card again that is.

Are there term limits for mayor?

No. Nenshi was one of several against limits. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

He played it in the last election, tough to say if farkas will win, I only care if druh has 5 people running against her to split the vote. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Exactly. Brett Wilson was not wrong. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Whats farkas track record on voting.
That, I don’t know. All I can remember is that he has opposed a lot of the council nonsense and even proved them wrong on their salary issue (something about raises?) a couple of years ago. It’s been fairly quiet from them all for a while due to COVID.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Likely he would be an equally annoying mayor. Its not as if they have any power. A bunch of council would need to change before we see anything different coming out of there
Where can I donate?
Wait, now who is going to be my councillor? Does he have a son?

Pro LGBTQ as gay man and against irresponsible spending. Previous works for Manning Centre on critique of city politics and spending so expect him to continue on that platform. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
But he probably won't play well with council.

I think 4 terms would be reasonable. 16 years is sufficient to have some stability, without making these individuals into career politicians.

Is there anyone on our council who isn’t a career politician?

It's actually more of an effect of we keep voting the same person in unless they quit. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Has an incumbent decided to run ever been defeated?
That's going to be a hard pass from me.

Mayors don’t have a lot of power so even if you like his voting record it doesn’t mean shit if you can’t unify and lead council around your vision. Based on the way he acts now, he is not someone that can lead council imo. (not saying Nenshi is good at it these days either)
Not really. His position is more of a contrarian. If most of Council likes something, he votes against it, good or bad. He just likes his name in the news. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I find him entertaining in the sense that it seems like his sole mission in life is to get under Nenshi's skin. He seems a little erratic to be the leader of the city but don't take that as an endorsement of the Purple Clown.
