I would run triples before running a big screen tv, even an ultra wide is a better choice. 16:9 kind of limits your ability to look into corners, check mirrors, etc.

Ideally just get VR. I rarely race on my 32:9 screen after getting an index.
I did want triple computer monitors initially and have that nice round angle to it. But then I had to get a PC as from my research PS4 can't render on three screens. So decided to go with this for now as I can't be bothered looking into a PC right now.

Ohh man that one looks SO nice! I never saw it before, though the price different between mine and that is huge. Maybe if I find myself using the rig a lot, I will order that down the line to change it up and sell mine! But it doesn't look like it is the rig mounted TV style which is what I wanted.

For the steering though, since I won't only just be playing F1, I rather have something more versatile that I can play other racing games with.

You realize that's just the wheel right? The DD wheel base to go with that plus some Clubsport Pedals will set you back well North of $2K

Needless to say, had a pretty fun weekend. Does get tiring, tho that could be the game so going to grab NFS Heat to play on it. Unless any other good options out there? I don’t do online so has to have a good offline campaign mode.

You are going to play need for speed in a simulator?

Dirt Rally 2.0, I think has kind of a single player
    WRC 9 Career single player
Assetto Corsa Competizione (might not be the most optimized for console vs PC) Has AI single player, but mostly online
GT Sport I think it has added more single player though online is quite good
Project Cars 2 (Same, might not be too smooth on console vs PC, would only get if really discounted) Has decent career mode, 3 is newer but is much more arcadey.

F1 is my favorite game to play on my wheel though.

Why not? I was hoping to, I thought it would be more entertaining rather than just doing repeated laps like in F1.

Thanks for those recommendations, will check them out. F1 I enjoy but I can see it getting boring as time goes on due to the nature of it, same will likely by the issue with others that are sort of similar in nature. That's why I thought something like an open world racing game would be more fun.

PCars (and 2 ) is pretty great on console in my experience.

    .
Just always seemed like a Uber arcade controller type game rather than something to play with a wheel and pedals.

No problem. All of those would be similar to F1 race wise as they are simish. Rally would be slightly different as you are on different few minute stages that take a while to repeat though with a wheel it can be quite difficult. The crew 2 maybe for PS though Forza Horizon 4 would be the best (Xbox/PC only).

Took the plunge and made the jump from GTS to iRacing Any other beyonders on iRacing, there's already a few of us that periodically hop into a practice session together.

I am jealous, my plan is similar once we move and I can make a whole room into a sim room. Have been doing some hour long races with friends on Fridays and Saturdays lately.

I convinced the wife to give me a bedroom for sim racing in the new house, currently it's taking up a good chunk of the basement and she's not thrilled

I didn't know you were on iRacing.

I'm on iracing, have been racing there since the beginning. I don't have much time anymore with little kids, but I'll go turn some laps every once and a while to stay sharp. I haven't done an actual race in years, but running hot laps in practice still scratches the itch.

Nonsense, you've got a great rig and at least yours doesn't spontaneously crash

Inspired by this thread... some Sega SuperGT action running supermodel3 emulator, fanatec cs v2 running on a NUC in my home theater.

Not yet but I think Jeff might give me an old PC. Still running Forza with the plebs.

That's some fairly high-end stuff to be playing Sega

This thread inspired me to get my racing rig setup again, and it ended in nothing but frustration. It doesn't fit well between my wall/computer desk, so I figured I'd run steam-link on a Raspberry Pi and just play on a TV. I ran into the issue where even though iRacing is "on" steam, it didn't translate well to steam link, so I ended up giving up on that.

Tried to get it working with project cars, and after around 45mins of mucking around I got it working, but the wifi connection kept slowing down, so anytime I'd come up on a corner, I'd lose frames/input, and would slide into a wall. I might try hardwiring the Pi to see if it helps, but at this point, I'm about to flip my desk around so I can just use my monitors.
