I remember the first time I sat in a panamera it was entirely out of hand.

Different stokes for different folks, I fucking love buttons... especially buttons that have a great tactile feel.

I am pro buttons as well, especially if touchscreen is the alternative, I just prefer there to be a reasonable number of them.

Numbers isn’t the problem. I expect the layout to be coherent. If the buttons are where you have to look away to see and select the accurate function you’re after, I’d rather have them on a touchscreen where it’s aesthetically pleasing since it would be functionally identical.

Porsche and the latest BMW lower center cluster of buttons are a shit show.

+1, give me 100 buttons with nice tactile feel and feedback over a touch screen any day. I'm the same way with remotes - I always buy the ones with physical buttons.

Disagree completely. I've driven 30,000km+ in Cayennes and a Panamera with the "busy buttons" centre console and after a few days of getting to know the layout, the usage is remarkably intuitive. It's been a while, but fuck what I wouldn't do to never have to navigate sub-menu after sub-menu through a touch scree, just to change a minor function. Bonus points for the buttons in the Porsche to have a nice tactile feel.

Besides, if there are too many buttons for you, just order fewer options

I really like the new C63 and E63 steering wheel that makes me feel like a race car driver with spinning wheels to choose settings to start up my car

Fair enough. Only drove a Panamera for a short stint, so definitely not enough seat time to judge properly. Same with the 850i for the BMW side. Had to pull over to change my drive settings to what I want.

I'm guessing that little slot is just wide enough to collect dirt and crumbs, but narrow enough to keep anything useful from fitting and being easy to clean?
So you dudes got in my head. That slot is about perfect for anything the size of a USB cigarette lighter power adapter. And cleaning should be okay because the rubber liner comes right out.

I read that they only work on soft tissue like eye sockets, carotid, ear..so you are betting that the adrenaline won't mess up your precision.
