I think it is unique. It is different than those other things because the entertainment requires a misunderstanding (or ignoring of) probability. The entertainment value of a lottery ticket comes in the hopes and dreams that you might win.

That's all that is. We have a group one at work and it's just something we tease each other about when the job gets challenging. The "winnings" barely cover 20% of the cost.
