    Default Cellphone speeds caps - Telus Throttling to 250 Mbps

    So Telus is going to throttle the speeds on some of it's plans to 250 Mbps.

    Anyone care about this? y'all know I don't even have the internet, so I have no idea what kind of use-case this would impact, but 250 seems plenty fast.

    That's the most bullshit marketing ever. To be expected of Telus I guess though.

    Unlimited 20 5G.
    - Speed is not unlimited, capped at 250Mbps
    - Data is not unlimited (at 250Mbps), capped at 20gb
    - "Unlimited" data after that but at a further reduced speed of just 512kbps. 1/500th of what your plans speed is supposed to be.

    Yah. I just looked at my Speedtest result history (if that is a good measure) for all my Telus cell network tests and I have results showing way over the 250 cap, specifically in the Edmonton and Calgary areas.

    Old unlimited plans aren’t affected.
