Yep they’ve had a M3 and a M4 sitting at CBMW for weeks now unsold.
I think that's a reflection on Calgary's current economy. Americans are paying MSRP or higher on them.

Was chatting with the finance dept there and maybe they are full of shit but they claimed they were moving tons of inventory.

Cheap debt and people putting down payments on new cars instead of going on vacation. Said it was surprising that they were actually moving a fair amount of the high $ inventory too ( North of M3 prices ). M5’s, 850’s, M8’s, tons of X7’s.

I don’t think there is any shortage of money, people just don’t want the cars.

Blah blah blah. The F80 had the same thing from using the standard 3 series rear doors.
I mean, they were lazy on the F80 as well. E90 looks so much better with transition from rear door to fender. Another thing they ruined on F80 onwards is the hood line as well, seemingly simple design elements for a $100K+ car.

BMW is basically GM now. A few (a couple?) of interesting non-ugly cars sprinkled in among a bunch of irrelevance.

M3/M5 used to be aspirational because they were cool. Now all they have is that they are fast. No cool to be found.
Meanwhile gm is about to produce some very cool cars through Cadillac

100% agree. Spent quite a lot of time going over designs in person at the dealer last weekend and things really went downhill after the E90 imo.

It's not that bad. I drove an M2 in a couple of winters and film holds up well there just as it does with any car that has rear fender flares. You just have to replace the film more often if you want it to look good when clean.
    I don't know about that.....here is a better pic:

That's a very flat surface in an area where rocks do the most damage. Maybe the aerodynamics will make a difference? Time will tell. Give it a few months and I'm sure people will be complaining. The M2 lines are very smooth in the rear quarter compared to the pic above.

    IMO

    F80>E90
    E92>F82

E90 sedan really doesn’t do it for me personally.

M2 is the only BMW I would buy right now.

Who'd have guessed BMW would look to the Civic Type R for design inspiration. What a time to be alive.

I think M3 design peaked at E9x. Well not just design, the NA V8 was awesome too.

E90 M3 with a 6 speed would be a nice weekend runner, just a shame the prices have already seemingly hit bottom and are now going up for the clean examples. I have always preferred the 4 door 3 series' proportions to the coupe.

The car is seriously fast. It's considerably better than the F8x as a drivers car.

All day as in all day in the shop getting fixed? Another nice thing about the M3 is that modern BMW's are pretty reliable compared to MB and Audi.

About as fast around a track as the 5 year old Alfa? Not that impressive.

At least the Alfa looks good.

Probably best to call it a “Drivers Car”, because the drivers seat is the only vantage where it’s any good from. Unfortunately, every once in a while you will have to step out and look at it lol

I can tell you from ownership experience the S58 engine is terrible on gas.

S65 is probably worse. Needed to get the thing over 3000rpms to get off the line.

    S-Class turrible on gerse?!¿¡?!!¿?!¡
    Now I've seen ervurything!!

I think it's me and CJblair who are all over this concept of "what if the gal buying the deep 6-figure car doesn't give a squirt of fuck about the L/100km measured to 5 decimals?!"

How do the great, unwashed we not realize that someone who buys a brand new GTC4Lusso for about $460k not care about the cost of premium fuel and 22L/100km ??!!?! Don't they realize the savings they could've had with a more economical _____ representing 0.00002x % of their cost of ownership!?!?
    Fools!!!
