Gonna be extremely interesting to see what Seattle chooses to do.

Seattle likely to have a very good team out of the gate.
Carey price being exposed is a surprise. It’s a big contract but since it was front loaded it’s not as expensive in real money. Any reasons why Seattle won’t take him?

Montreal just leaked that price might have to get surgery. Coincidence? Lol
Some very odd choices in there, but the whole story is always more complex.
Still... Who would've thought San Jose would protect Evander Kane?! Also surprised to see Ovechkin and Tarasenko available.
It's not that front loaded, he's due 11mill in signing bonus in Sept of this year. Actually cash value is 44mill for 5 years remaining still. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Ovechkin being available means nothing as he's a UFA. It's basically just drafting him and have 3 days till his contract expires. They only way they'd do that is to have that as negotiation window to sign a new contract. Ovi isnt gonna sign with Seattle regardless so to protect him would be a waste. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
He requires surgery that could have him out a significant amount of time next season. He's also owed $11M in signing bonuses next season too. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
PK Subban, Jordan Eberle, Devan Dubnyk, Tuukka Task and Taylor Hall are available.
Oilers choose to protect a goalie who played one game & let in 5 goals which leave Smith & Koskinen vulnerable while Calgary protects Tkachuk.
Some weird things. I think Vegas should be a part of it but I guess a team that new wouldn't typically have become so dominant, so quickly, so that's fair.
I think the Islanders might get picked over pretty good.
Those are unofficial claims. Same with Weber possbily be done in his career. It's a risky tactic by Montreal but I do want Seattle to take Price. Just let Montreal riot again. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Again, Rask and Hall are UFA that they can sign with Seattle without drafting. So leaving them unprotected means absolutely nothing. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Same with Edmonton's Goalies, Koskinen is shitty with a high Cap and Smith is also a UFA.
Wait, why wouldn't they protect Chucky? As far as I know the rumor if him wanting out was started by Shane O'Brien saying "I bet he wants to go home" and spiraled out of control from there. I know since that Muzzin incident thing's went down hill but to think he's going anywhere would be insane (in my opinion). This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

It's ok, he wants teams to protect UFA which can be signed for free... he clearly doesnt know anything lolThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I vote for team chaos. Seattle should try to hurt other teams. Taking only cheap players would be a start. Everyone is hoping to unload money, but I don't see why Seattle would be so helpful.

Just 0-60 on that, eh? That's nice. I never claimed to be Elliott Fuckin Friedman, as prefaced when I said but the whole story is always more complex initially. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Did you see the part where I said that? I don't have enough fucks to give to track every player's free agent status and their cap hits. I was just mentioning names that raised eyebrows from a casual fan's perspective.
If that's forbidden and it's only hArDcOrEz sTaTz TaLkZ allowed in here, we can let the thread die after the list was posted because it's not like many were commenting on it.
Fair enough, what made you think Calgary shouldnt protect Tkachuk tho?!This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I think maybe I'm a victim of the rumor mill on that. Which still doesn't make much sense because even if he has his poopy pants on and they are upset with him, they still should want market value. If they have room, he should be protected. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Are Tarasenko and Eberle also approaching free agency?
Correct, team should also protect their most important asset in an expansion draft. Why let it go for nothing when you can get something for them. Even if the player no longer wants to play for you (See Eichel). This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Not protecting Tarasenko is a little more surprising as he's still worth the gamble with that cap hit and potential production.
I don’t think anyone wanted Tarasenko without having the blues retain salary. That’s why he wasn’t traded prior. Exposing him gives an opportunity for Seattle to take his full hit, retain salary, and flip him to another team for other trade value since in theory Seattle has tons of cap room to work with to hit min cap. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. They just need to find another Edmonton lolThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Prediction: Tarasenko (no salary retained) to Edmonton for Puljujarvi + Conditional 2nd. HahahaThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Looking at the available players list... Seattle has so many good players to choose from. GM Ron Francis has the greenlight to spend to the cap, so he can build a fairly decent team right out of the gate. It's too bad he can't pillage Tampa's roster since he can only pick one player.
