    Default Christmas Trees

My partner and I usually do Christmas in Mexico - but with COVID, probably like many going to do it all up - Christmas tree's in every room aha.

We found this 9 Footer at Costco, but also is $900 haha. Is $900 excessive to spend on a tree? lol
What do you all do for trees?
I grew up with my family buying real tree's every year, but my partner really wants a fake tree.

    What do you all do?
    Post your tree set-ups!

Last year we had our first real tree in 17 years. Before that we used the same fake tree we bought our first year together, for $245. It looks like shit compared to fake ones now, but my wife likes it for nostalgia.

For $900, it better be a god damned perfect replica of a real one though.

$900 is about 10x what a perfectly reasonable tree should cost. That's even more insane than those LED lights that cost $20/ft to get installed on your eaves.

Depends on the number of those real looking tips. Where are you going to store all of these trees?

We got ours at Costco, it was a 7 footer and iirc was ~$400. As far as fake trees go, it is very very good quality. Looks ten times better than any real tree we’ve had, and way better than ones of comparable price from places like Canadian tire. It’s so dense, it weighs around 80lbs I think. Obviously has built in configurable lights.

Definitely recommend getting one at Costco, however I’m skeptical of that price. I think the 8 or 9 footers were closer to $600 last year.

+1 on the Costco tree. Though I do admit I hate storing the stupid thing the other 360 days a year.

Noma Tree. CDN Tire. Built in leds. Looks good. 7 footer. $250ish I think it was. Good enuf man.

$900?!? Sure, if you can afford to fertilize after every cut, get the $900 one.

I have to second this. We got our 7' tree with the built-in LEDs from CdnTire years ago... not long after they came out; I'm thinking maybe close to 10yrs? $300 and it's paid for itself over and over. In fact it's probably time for a new one, but we're going to do exactly the same thing as we did last time. Maybe just get one of those ones that can do the fancy patterns or something.

    Wow, thanks. I'll consider this.
Their towels are simply the most incredible towel experience ever on earth, so I'm tempted to blindly jump into this.

My only point of reference is the tree my wife and I got with our leftover gift registry money from the bay 15 years ago is still looking good, just has a slightly bent stand.

Ikea usually sells real trees for $20, so for $900 you could have 45 years if the price remains the same

But depends on you, I enjoy the smell and look of a real tree, I hate the needles making a mess though... alternatively I hate trying to get the damn tree back in the box for artificial and having to store it for 350 days

Real trees are nice, but usually are garbage quality. Last one we got, was dry as a bone and needles were all falling off before Christmas. And yes I remembered to put water in it.

Bay deal looks good. All of my family complains about our tree every year, because its some ratty old fake one from who knows when. But I dont care, I just tell them they are lucky they don't have to spend xmas outside, homeless and suffering.

They give me the side eye, but there is really no comeback to that.

I like real trees as well. But some years they are so fucking dry its not even worth it. Most come from Quebec too, taberncale. Maybe I will try to cut down my own this year.
