Looks like a classic "my wife and i watch houseflippers on tv so now we stripped this 1950s SFH down to the drywall and gave it an Ikea renovation. Don't worry about what's under the drywall you cant see it now anyways" renovation.

And yeah, they want 500k for that renovation work.
I walk by this house regularly and this is exactly what this is but instead of a couple it's a group of investors who've done several properties around Haysboro, Acadia, Kingsland etc. They all use the same two or three East Indian Realtors when they list the property too.

It's got all the hallmarks of these terrible flips I was complaining about in my previous posts in this thread: Everything white and grey, barn doors, goofy light fixtures, not one but two Costco fake fireplaces. Every room about as cozy as a dental office.

I'm not mad at the flippers making money off it, it's the stupid debt slave yuppies who are buying them post flip that are ruining it.

Yeah, shit falls apart in years as the foundation and original framing give way. Ive seen too many of those renos torn into. It's scary.

Why would it give way? I’ve been in 100 year old homes that have original framing and foundation that are still rock solid.

I worded that poorly. The original will likely outlast the cheap Reno, unless there were underlying issues plastered over (which happens a lot of the time with these).

Some realtor bought my childhood home, gutted it and turned it into a total abomination. IKEA renovation. Such a shame, it’s such a nice location and lot.

Good value imo if anyone wants to tear it apart and do the renovations properly. I have plans!

While the lot size is great, looking out on those Appartment buildings isnt ideal..

Yeah, that was my mother’s gripe with it growing up but never had any issues with residents bothering us. When it’s not winter it’s pretty forested back there and you get a lot of privacy. We used to have a lot more trees back there too. It’s a steal in this market imo..

I beleive that is one of the original home sites in the area! Pretty cool. It was for sale a few years back, but now just being rented.

I actually always said to the owners that I’d buy that house if I stayed in Calgary. Change of plans.. The driveway and garage setup is epic.

Looks great and all until you have to shovel all that snow... Corner lot too, for all that extra sidewalk.
