Preference of vehicle interiors is about as personalized as preference of pizza.
You get those people who think putting pineapple on a pizza is literally a hate crime on par with smearing monkey shit on it. And, they're fucking noisey about how "correct" they are!

I could be wrong but I thought the 5.3 over the years had cylinder deactivation while the 6.0 and 6.2 did not? I would choose any standard v8 over one with cylinder deactivation anyday. I believe the way gm did it, long term you fuck up your lifters?

Anecdotally, see how many 2002-2007 gmc/chevs you still see on the road vs the number of fords... I think the timing chain tensioners and cam phasers have killed off most of em.

I would personally go with ford over dodge as my mechanic buddy hates dodge and notes that they eat front ends and fca is a piece of shit company
They all have some form of cylinder deactivation, implementation depends on MY.

My 6.2 can run on 1 cylinder if it feels like it.

This article says 2, swore I read it can go down to 1 somewhere but can’t find a source.

This is the latest gen of GM’s cylinder deactivation on their pickups.

Two still surprises me. I can't see one or any odd number and maintain balance.

I think technically speaking the system is capable of any combination of cylinders between 2 and 8 (again I swore 1 was an option ). Something like 17 distinct programs it cycles through based on torque demand.

The old system was AFM, which shut down an individual bank at a time.

Ever since I've had a screen die, I totally agree. Now instead of losing something useless like Nav, you lose heat and stereo, too! Awesome!! Now you nearly need to get towed to fix a $2,000 problem!

I'm still rocking in my 2011 Ram QC Sport.

It was the interior that sold me at the time vs similar Ford and GM models.

    Low Km's though for a 10 year old truck...only 115 k.

No major maintenance required in its lifetime other than oil changes and tires...

Hoping to push it for another 5 years at least...then my truck days will be done...I think...

Not uncommon for these big screens to go kaput. I had a newer Cadillac and the screen almost looked like it shattered one hot day, thankfully was under warranty. Outside warranty would have cost $2300. My in laws had theirs go on their 2018 Acura MDX, just went dark one day, no warning. Can't wait till all this stuff is 10+ years old lol, aftermarket will be making $$ on replacements for factory units.

Maybe a lot of people didn’t read the first post, but he’s looking at the previous generation ram.

The 2018 ford with refresh is the obvious choice.

if i could simply toss a better motor in my 19 Ram Sport i would. I loved driving the 3.5L ecoboost in my old 2015 platinum, but the interior is cheaper in compariosn.

on exterior side of things, if ford has aftermarket wheels id put them about even.
    Engine Plus to Ford
Interior hands down the ram. the looks, materials and functionality are all better than ford.
