Yeah a new Mavic Mini is expected before Christmas. Odd that they are refreshing it so fast but I think people really wanted 4K. You might be thinking of the Advanced exam - there isn't any BS for the Basic license, no prep needed, just ~20 minutes + Google and anyone can get it easily online with a ridiculously low pass % threshold.
