I am happy with a 5800.
now, I am just waiting for a Dark Hero to come in stock and a 3070 or a 6xxx to come in stock somewhere.

Don't get too hung up on the Dark Hero unless you plan on buying it specifically to overclock - that would be the only reason to get it over something else. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
god damnit, that was your specific recommendation! LOLThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
What should I be looking out for then?

I think what I said was if you want to OC, that is my recommendation. The reason is because it's the only mobo that lets you OC based on current, otherwise if you do an all core OC you will lose the native single core boost. That is a hardware feature that other mobo's cannot add with just a BIOS update. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I don't know if it was this thread or another but basically I laid out all the best mobo's by price.
If you want to spend $500 get a Dark Hero (if you want to OC) or a Gigabyte Aorus Master if you aren't going to OC. The Dark Hero is a good board with the unique OC feature, the Aorus Master is a slightly better board otherwise.
If you want to spend $200-300 get a Gigabyte Elite or Asus TUF. If you aren't going to OC and they have the features/ports you want, this is the best value by far. You don't really need the better VRMs of the higher-end boards if you're just going to run an 8 core part without an OC.
If you want to Spend $400ish look at the MSI Unify, but for only an extra $100 I would just go with a Dark Hero or Aorus Master.
I don't think he needs the master. Personally I would just go with the Aorus Elite.
Unless you need the extra PCIE or M.2 Slots that money could be better spent elsewhere IMO, if you want future upgradability maybe the Pro but the Dark hero or the Master would be way overboard
5800X is a weird CPU. 5600X is a much better value for gaming, and 5900x is a better buy for content creation workloads for a little more money. Unless you can't wait to find either one, there's no reason to pick up a 5800x.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Sounds like you read my earlier posts as that is exactly what I have been telling peopleThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
With the scarcity though I think people are buying whatever is available if they're excited to make a new build.

Everything seems to be low stock right now, even cases are scarce. Still want for the phanteks p500a to be in stock somewhere where it's not gouging. Got a notification from newegg but its $200 and $40 shipping from the states. With all the delays in the postal system I won't be looking to build my system for a while
I bought the version without the RGB fans (I prefer to use my own PWM fans) but I paid the $160 + $40 shipping from Newegg. It's a fair price for what you get IMO and I haven't seen it cheaper anywhere with shipping included. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Even if I were fork up the $40 for shipping the delays would probably kill me. I shipped a package to the states and its been sitting in customers in New York since Dec 30th.
Google shipped me a stadia and that was 10 days late coming from Toronto. At this rate I'm just gonna wait it out until the new year to start my build as there are no CPUs or GPUs available anyways
What gets me is how people are still trying to scalp the 56 for the same money it would take to walk into memex and buy a 58 off the shelf today.

Mine came from their USA warehouse on time. This was before the xmas rush though to be fair, but they were really quick delivering my case and RAM. Could always pay for expedited shipping but it's probably spendy. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
They use Purolator so you shouldn't have to worry too much about the usual USPS / Canada Post nightmares.
Finished over the weekend. Spent more than I wanted to.
That's the only reason I recently upgraded. SATA SSD was full, wanted NVME and realized my motherboard was 6 years old. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Kept my case, really love it. Coolermaster HAF:

Godammit...now I need to sell my micro ATX build from earlier this year for a loss and build a mini itx because I need the space.

Basically a twin build, almost identical parts too. I fixed the power cables fro the GPU, now running two dedicated cables instead of a single with a jumper.
Damn those are mini cases, much jealous.
After this build, I don't see myself going back to a regular sized case. Everything else seems too big and has so much wasted space. The NR200 is a good entry case into the small form factor PC world. Can be used as an air cooled or water cooled system.
I am considering the Fractal Design Era ITX case vs the Lian Li TU150.
How much do you guys think I would get for this PC I built at the end of March this year?
Case: Thermaltake Level 20 VT MicroATX
CPU: Ryzen 5 3600X
Cooler: Thermaltake Floe Riing Plus RGB 240
MB: Gigabyte B450 Aorus M
RAM: 4 x 8GB Thermaltake TR RGB 3200 CL16
Storage: Western Digital Black SN750 nVME 1TB
PSU: EVGA 650W G6 80+ Gold
GPU: MSI 5700XT
