on release, you could get the 4.0 in all 4 configs. Sold out right away, that's what's left. Since release, I've wanted the black tempered glass panel, but only white is available for months now. Hard to show off LCD CPU cooler thru the mesh.

I sure have. It was reported that was fixed before launch. And my temps were always fine, at least when I was checking them.

This happened while I was playing Halo, another equally unoptimised game.

Damn, thats rough. I know lots of people lost their 3090's to the game, wasn't sure if it affected the 3080ti or if the game was fixed yet. I believe some people would cap their FPS at <100fps so it wouldnt torch their 3090's for future reference.

That sucks, hopefully it goes better than my friend;took him about three months to get a DOA 3080 replaced.
FWIW, I haven't really had too many issues with Halo and I'm running on pretty old hardware. Found deleting the hi-res pack helped a ton. I've had way more issues with BF2042 instead.

I finally managed to get a new gpu last week through EVGA. Now I am on the hunt for some DDR5 ram, has anyone seen anything? Memx has none and when I asked when I got my new CPU they didn't really have an idea on when more would be in.

I did see the three they have in stock right when they added then and then have been checking since I started planning my build in the last week or so and nada. Gives time to decide on a motherboard I suppose.

The manager I talked to told me most inventory doesn't get added to the site, part of the "come in person to find out if its in stock" measure they started this year.

I thought that was only on video cards no?

Also what brand motherboards are people using these days. I am generally an msi guy but was also looking at the asus boards but I believe the gigabyte are to be avoided due to poor support in Canada?

I've already gotten 32gb of ddr5, but a member on Hardware Canuck's forum PM'd me yesterday and said he had some more available from his shop - IIRC he had 4 kits of 2x8 (16gb) available, and also some 2x16 32gb. Anyhow, not sure if he still has any left, but he seems to get access to it as I'm not the first person on the forum there he's helped in the recent past get some.

I have a Asus Tuf 570 plus wifi board and my storage is 2 x 500GB NVMe drives, I find my 2nd drive is mostly stored with tv/movies for plex viewing which is done mostly while Im also playing games, is it better to replace this with a 2TB NVMe drive or just add a SSD for the media? I want to add more games.

Kind of a long shot but part of me wants to swap to a mitx setup as my new desk arrangement is more compact now.

SSD doesn't really benefit plex at all. If its solely just media you could plop a cheap 4-8tb drive in there for cheaper than a ssd. Though it's more bulky drive. A 2tb nvme could be good for a mix of use though. It can easily have games and media on it together and never not keep up.

I was thinking of using a bigger nvme because I dont want the plex media playing affecting my gaming performance, or the wife complaining about lag on the stream.
