No doubt they are heading for ANOTHER lock down there. The people (and thus governments) reflect a lack of econ 101.

How many people, who has criticized other people for not understanding econ 101, has actually passed econ 101? I did. On my third attempt.

My university started first year courses numbering at 201. 101 didn't exist. Weird.

The solution is to start making beer. Peak oil by 2030. Peak beer by never. Pivot!

So early this year (before covid) I booked 4 flights to PIE from Edmonton for $341 each (with taxes) for October. Had to cancel because the bubble wasn't opened and now I have $1364 in a travel bank and looking at having to pay more to try this again for next year. On the bright side I have more travel bank dollars from flights to Vancouver that were cancelled as well. I think I am going to stop trying to book flights even in Canada.

The benefit of masks is not known at this time. But we do know it is some non-trivial amount more than zero.

We also know that the cost of mask use is, essentially, zero.

So the cost:benefit of mask use is approaching infinity. I'll take that every time. And every time I see someone without a mask, I think they are stupid.

Well, we are 2% off hospitalization threshold to have more lockdown here in AB. As outdoor gathering becoming not an option as temp goes down, I don't see any more slow down in cases.
