What jurisdiction gave you the ticket? @JoniBoy can comment.

I don’t think you can get a reduction anymore. I have one myself due by Dec. and my contacts in the lower courts cannot help me. I’m assuming this is for all Alberta.

you could call X-copper or Pointts and see if they are still doing their thing. But for most people, it's simpler just to pay the fine, take the demerits and drive slower for a couple years.

Most jurisdictions, including Calgary, are no longer offering reductions on photo radar or intersection camera tickets. If you were pulled over in Calgary you should still be able to get a reduction, and you can do so yourself over email now. Probably the same in other jurisdictions but can't guarantee. You can contact them directly to find out:

I didn't realize they wouldn't deal on picture tickets anymore... Is this a covid thing or permanent?

On a side note - Whatever happened to that photo radar review a year ago...? I assume they saw how much money it generates and quickly backpeddled on it? lol

Likely permanent. Other jurisdictions had already been going that way pre-covid. I think Edmonton changed their policy about a year ago. Once things are a bit more back to normal I'd be interested in taking a few of these tickets to trial...I would imagine if they're wasting an hour of court time to collect each 115 fine they would have to rethink that policy.

Personally I will be pleading not guilty to every ticket I get in the future. Fuck them.

I had a speeding ticket for the Cochrane area, emailed the traffic section of the court and they forwarded my excuse to the CP, CP called me ON THE DAY OF MY COURT DATE (that's how it works), the email said that if I don't respond to the email or phone call by 3pm on the day of my court date I will be found guilty. The CP calls me at 1:30 that day, offers me a plea, refuses to remove demerits, so I asked for a court date. See you in 12 years Cochrane court, but until then, you ain't getting my money, not a cent.
