I guess the real question is it the Covid response or the NZ-being-left-off-maps response that took them to this unprecedented majority?
Well, leaders often experience a popularity bump through a crisis if they are seen to be doing their best for the good of the country. Voters can usually tolerate bad outcomes from an extern "enemy" if the leader seems sincere. Although the social side of things must be pretty palatable to the voters for such high numbers.
I think in this country, and the one to the south, the leader is not seen as particularly sincere or even " doing their best" which is a terrible comment on both.

$5-6 sounds pretty cheap for a beer in NZ.

We looked at moving, but theres next to know engineer jobs there and they make 1/2 or less of what you do in Alberta, so didnt bother.

My youngest daughter (5) wants to move there asap as there are no bears there.

The solution is to start making beer. That is probably what @engibeer does.
Peak oil by 2030. Peak beer by never. Pivot!

Do they have Amazon Prime and Costco in NZ yet?

So why aren't we all moving there? What's the catch?
You need to be part of Beyond's 7.2 club in order to live there.

I got hooked on flat whites in NZ. Really wish my wife would've had any interest in moving there when we had the chance. I still dream about going back and I barely saw any of the country, just Taranaki province.

Better/richer milk in NZ I assume.

If I recall their milk is priced on fat and protein content.

I’m trying to picture what my life would look like without IKEA, Amazon, and Costco.

What’s next, are you going to tell me they don’t have domestic half ton trucks?

Yes but unless you are a farmer you wont be needing it.

I have family that ran a dairy farm down there until very recently. They did not require anything as large as a half ton.

I don't know the reason but they almost always taste slightly burnt here. I have had good ones at ski resorts where the baristas are kiwis. Perhaps it's simply an issue of craftsmanship.

When i lived here, it was quite common to have a small trailer that you towed with your car. Especially to get to the dump.
