Default 2020 New Zealand Election mNZga Thread

Congratulations to Lord Commander Ardern on the Labour Party's glorious victory. Less Covids. Moar Scones!

    https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-54519628

With all votes tallied, Ms Ardern's centre-left Labour Party won 49.1%, bringing a projected 64 seats and a rare outright parliamentary majority.
The opposition centre-right National Party won 26.8% in Saturday's poll - just 35 seats in the 120-seat assembly.

I love the way she says "rural" @ 0:52.

Wait they elected a woman president a month before the Americans did?

I think we like her, right? She seems good.

Didn't know you were a SJW libtard. Welcome to the party.

Pro indigenous rights, lead the fight against climate change, "capitalism is a failure", progressive, feminist. She's everything beyond loves.

Sounds like she'd fit in here in Canada as well. Isn't that what Canadians think?

Don't be so rude. She is a potential trading partner. They must have an island or two we can trade the Maritimes for.

I'd prefer if we sent our economic illiterates there instead.

Can we do like an Australia, but instead of criminals, we send left wing dreamers to a NZ prison island?

PEI for Hobbiton should be a fair trade.

Don't you go underestimating Anne of Green Gables and her inexplicable Asian popularity.

NZ lamb is delicious. Seafood is cheap. Climate is nice. Less racist than Vancouver Island. I probably can't afford to live there.

    Great beer too
They've been doing local brewing for ages, long before this hipster excessively hoppy bullshit became fashionable in North America

Canada and New Zealand are kindred spirits, even if Canada doesn't belong on the same rugby field (though to be fair, they do a lot better against the All Blacks than the Ice Blacks would do against Canada)

I should fire up the Duolingo to understand what the commentator is saying. Great graphics though.

Rugby is great but AFL is fantastic! Dem finger guns.

Worst decision that country could have made. Love it there, but no different than how Trudeau gets his votes.

I guess the real question is it the Covid response or the NZ-being-left-off-maps response that took them to this unprecedented majority?
