    Default Garage Door Opener Repair

I feel like we had some members who were in the industry... But anyone got a line where I can locally (or at least in canada) source parts for a Marantec 4500e garage door opener?

Tried to leave the house today and door wouldn’t stay closed, flashing code ( 8,1) says rpm sensor is faulty. Yanked the sensor out and doesn’t seem like there is anything I can do to bring it back to life, so looking to get a new sensor to see if that fixes the problem. Marantec 89493 RPM Sensor. Can’t seem to find any in stock in Canada online.

If someone smarter than me in the world of garage door openers has advice along the lines of I should just replace the thing I would also take that under advisement, I don’t know where these things rank in the world of repair/replace.

Looking to get this fixed ASAP.

    TIA

Don't know anything about it, but Tony at Best Doors Inc seems to be the go-to guy, and he was helpful and pleasant when adjusting mine.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

    Thanks

Hoping for just a parts source to fix this on the cheap, by the time I get a guy out to look at it I’m assuming I’m pretty deep into paying off a new one that I can open with my phone haha

Can't buy that one. They use Tesla in their marketing photos. I bet that kid isn't licensed to fly that drone either.

Best Door Tony is good. He installed a similar unit in my home so well that an unaffiliated garage door guy complemented the installation some months later.

Does anyone make a gas powered garage door opener? Preferably with a standing pilot, no electric trickery.

Just a morning bump to see if anyone has a recommendation for a local part source before I try importing something from eBay...

I had these guys bookmarked back when I was looking for a part a couple years ago. They claim to have a large selection of parts:

I ended up realizing that it was an LED bulb that fucked up the opener so after i put an incandescent back in, it was all working perfect again and didn’t need to call them.

Is there a part number on the actual photo-interrupter?

From my Google fu the PN is Marantec 89493 RPM Sensor.

No PN on the old one I actually pulled out but the pics online look consistent.

Marantec parts have always been a challenge. I got nothing, other than make sure they're in stock and not 3rd party/dropshipped...
