Those guys that @killramos recommended to do my gas line can do it. Just don't mention his name or they will jack up the price.

Then try the 240V first. Simplex 5kW heater is like $130 and will take a decade in higher electricity to reach the cost of gas install etc.
Mine can hold 14degC with little effort.
Try it and if you don't like it, you're not even out $100.

Thats the last excuse for me not to get 240v in the garage (was thinking about gas heating).

Between future welding, future (not my) EV charging, and now proper heating in a 200$ device, - its worth the dough now.

Anyone here have access to buying Reznor? I swear HVAC is some sort of organized Mafia, it's so difficult to find a cash and carry supplier.

The wholesalers would quickly be out of business if they started undercutting the contractors by selling direct.

    Slightly related.

Has anyone added additional insulation to their garage doors?

Is the hard foam or the reflective bubble wrap a better option?

For what it's worth I have one of the 5,000W dimplex units from costco (looks a lot like https://www.homedepot.ca/product/dim...rey/1000856021) and it works great. Not enough to keep the garage super comfortable on a -10˚C day but enough to take the edge off.

That one is different that the one posted yesterday. It was a black unit, on clearance $119?

My electricity bill doubled 2 months in a row before I figured out that 240 heater was eating electric while it was -20. 20x20 fully insulated. Just beware, comfortable cost alot of money when going that route.

Well - ya, if you are keeping the garage at +20c when its -20 outside.

Why not keep it at 5c or 10c during the stupidest cold times - esp if you are not WORKING in your garage (which most people never do).
