Whats your plan after your off the meds? Did they work for you?
I can't feel the meds work but I can definitely feel it when I don't take them. I'm in counselling which has been amazing and likely some cbt therapy for anxiety. I am getting scared of the long term effects of these medications. I feel like i am already experiencing memory loss and they can lead to dementia and alzheimer's which scares the fuck out of me.

I want to see how I feel as a person without being medicated. It has been so long...
My shrink and I are on the same page with regards to tapering. It will be at least a year if not longer before I am off or on extremely low doses. I've tried to taper myself a few times, over a few months and the results were not good. Tranquilizers and sleeping pills are so physically addictive and make some major changes to the brains natural GABA processes. From what I have read they are some of the hardest drugs to get off.

Thanks man, but I've got my family to think about in this situation and not just me. Its pretty clear that anything I do wears off within a few days. So time to leave it to the professionals.

I am slowing down on the erbs as of now and still do plan on quitting soon. Just need to get everything else in order first.
You know what's right, you're changing course not changing destinations. Good stuff.

That's a beautiful way to say that. I will steal this for sure.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

Changing is easy.. staying motivated and driven to keep on the path is hard.
Man, I don't like when people say things like this because it just isn't true. Motivation isn't good for anything long term. Motivation is shit.

"Discipline and support", and not necessarily in that order, are what people really mean when they say "motivated and driven".
