Basically the higher the value, the more likely you will go to jail.
That's ok in this case though. Buster can afford Balfour Der.

I knew a guy who bought a large tool box from a big company, but the box was too big to fit in the vehicle, so arrangements were made to pick it up later that day. A week later, the big company called up this individual and asked when they were going to pick up their tool box. The individual called his brother, gave him the receipt and he went and picked up the second box for free.

Some might think this wrong but the big company can just, "write it off".

    I like neat cars.

is this less bad than pics of Hunter with a crack pipe? I mean, don't most dudes try to fuck most women who would let them? No guy I know would look particularly cool on hidden camera when trying to bang.

EDIT: Fuck, this isn't the politics thread. @benyl fooled me. my bad.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

    Here's an option, I suppose.
Contact them and mention that you were over shipped one unit and see what they say.
If they want it back, give one back and keep/sell the other because I strongly suspect Killramos is correct and these will end up in the trash.
If they don't want it back, sell/keep both with a more clean conscience.

Personally, I would call/email them about the fuckup cause I don't like having something like that on my conscience.

I’m all for being honest, but it’s well documented that by sending it back you aren’t doing the company any favours and they will likely landfill them rather than assess for resale.
More likely an employees house/ebay when they realize it's a free item coming back that has already left inventory.

For me, it would depend what the "high value" is.

Point of reference for myself, 20 years ago I had a genuine "bank error in my favour" of $1g. I didn't say shit about it. I didn't spend it either though, as my account has never been lower than that since then. So technically it's still there.

If it was $5g, I would have reported it. Anywhere in between is pretty grey for me.

Definitely notify them if you didn't pay for what they sent and ask what they would like you to do. An employee may have made an error and could get in trouble. I'm surprised this is even a question.

Chances are they will reward you if they want the items back, and if they don't then your conscience is clear.

I'm just curious what other people would do. I know what I'll do.

    Also...conscience?

I am with you. I don't believe in science, much less conscience.

Whether or not the items come back is irrelevant. If it gets noticed, the employee will get in trouble regardless. It would be ridiculous to make the severity of the punishment dependent on how forthright the buyer is.

Of course, but how is it not better if the items come back than if they don't? Maybe they don't know who received the items and can't track it down.

I've done other "what would you do" threads...doesn't mean I'm wondering WHAT I'll do, just interested in what others will do.
so this thread is no different than all of the other data you've gathered on Beyond for Skynet.
