    This is solid advice, unless you’re buying this coat for work. Stone island and nanamica are casual/streetwear fashion brands. Most of what they make would look ridiculous with a suit. Perfect to pair with a supreme hoodie and some old skools though.

    Supreme? What is this 2006 and the original Frogskin re-launch?

    cj, Take notes;
    A Nanamica Trench absolutely does work over a suit. Even their Gore, Pea Coat.

    Now stop the struggle, and abide by your notes.

    Nothing beats the less than $200 army officer wool coat that is NDP approved......Just remember to give it a thorough dry clean upon receiving, and some bespoke alteration, and all's good.

    Wait for Black Friday or Boxing Day there's plenty of sales from suit places like Indochino, Boss, Club Monaco, etc.

    Personally, I like the clean look style as you don't want jackets or any accessories that look tacky or busy over a suit or business clothing.

    Navy matches pretty much with anything https://www.clubmonaco.ca/en/men-clo...d=men-clothing

    I know it looks like a monk esque with its collar style but it is awesome in cold days and lightweight and sort of breathable.

    Rock it with a nice Chelsea boot and start drowning in you know what.

    SuitSupply is great stuff; affordable pricing + high quality fabrics

    So +1 to that recommendation. Try and look for at least 80% wool to achieve great warmth. An overcoat or a car coat would be sufficient.

    Single-breasted is more modern; double-breasted is warmer.

    Try and see what the common color scheme is for your suits/blazers/trousers and go with that. Dark navy or charcoal is a safe bet.

    Or go bold and get plaid patterns!

    hahah it's been that way for at least the last 7 years, but started as a core shop in NYC that was one of the first to push collabs.

    Double breasted>single breasted for me but others can do the single breasted overcoat very well

    Aquascutum makes great ones like this piece.
