    Default How to Prevent Win10, from utilizing cellular hotspot, via iPhone USB ?

    Just as the title mentions;
    How do I prevent Win10, from utilizing cellular hotspot, via iPhone USB ?

    I have a wired/cat connection, that more that does the job. I'd like to connect my iPhone via USB to charge/transfer only.

    Thanks!

    Do you mean on my cell phone ?
    I don’t want to that off. I use that function.

    It’s why I want to limit my pc from taking the connection.

    When you plug your phone into the computer don’t click yes on the “allow this device to connect” message.

    Also you can disable the network adapter in windows settings.

    You want it on all the time? Why not just turn it on when you want to tether and turn it off when you don't? that's what i do. Its also more secure and might even save a tiny bit of battery since your phone won't always be broadcasting an SSID connection.

    In windows, under connections, isn't there settings on each connection? You can set that one as "metered connection" which saves some data, or you can just turn off data on that connection completely, I think.

    Or, much smarter like mentioned above, turn off the hotspot function on your phone when you aren't using it. Better security and battery life.

    under W10 wifi settings (lower right corner, wifi icon) - right click on the hotspot network your phone is broadcasting and select 'FORGET' , or DISCONNECT and then deselect CONNECT AUTOMATICALLY.

    alternately, you can turn off W10 wifi manually altogether (temporarily) on the same icon as well as you are hard wired

    It's not WiFI. The iPhone's Lightning connection is connection to the USB connection on my pc, and broadcasting the connection from the iPhone's LTE to the PC.

    That appears to have done it, and am humbled.

    Thanks
