Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.

Pull out the @Kloubek win-win negotiation.

This is the car I want, this is what my trade in should be worth, this is what it is.

Gimme my car at my price, and make it right. Or how much bad press are you willing to eat on bad reviews?

Mine was more a lose-lose and if this was me, I'd be pissed and would have no difficulty nailing the dealer to the wall for blatantly trying to screw me.

I agree to talk to them first. Don't bother with a manager... go straight to the GM and try to work out a solution. Technically, you are only out resale value difference but I feel they are still obligated to figure something out. Might not be worth small claims, but I feel it's a compelling news story, and such a fact ought to be worth something to keep quiet. Kinda like self-inflicted extortion.

Take the story to the hottest news reporter and then take her for a ride in your new F150.

What the hell is wrong with some of you?
Giving me negative rep and don't even say who you are? Over this thread of all too.

This is a prime example of why consumers should never, ever, ever feel bad for dealerships when something doesn't go their way.

Back when some family worked for one of the Big3 in a corporate position, I regularly had access to "executive demos". More like executive "how fast can we use up all the tires".
I LOL whenever i see someone try and tell me their demo purchase was driven in a respectable manner the first part of its life.

and I did not have the only say in the matter (most people just want it done ASAP and don't care about quality).

If anything we made a better decision because we had a consensus and were all on the same page.

    Hi Beyond community,

Fast forward Nov 2020 - Calgary AB
I'm in the market for a new car and thought 'hey might as well see what the trade in value is'. The dealership where I was checking out a new car provided me a huge shock when they showed me a Car Proof of my car with 13k in damages. Due to which the trade-in value which they could provide me was 12k under Black Book value.
I'm curious what car you have? The used car market is the hottest it's been in the last 5 years... You should easily be getting 105-110% of blackbook.

Current dealer is trying to devalue your car heavily because of the accident.

'executive demo' love the rewording - standard marketing BS - in other words, 'execute demolition'

Executive Demo basically means rental car.

A C63 or M5 labelled as an 'executive demo' is something I would never touch - a gray Camry on the other hand, sure.

You gave the most mature and reasonable option to solve his situation. Many people would rather complain on forums first, then maybe, talk to dealers. It’s like having a wheel fall off after a tire swap at a shop. People will likely seek advice on the internet than making the call to the shop. It’s a strange time to be alive.
